The Bait House is a very comfortable, family run, self-catering holiday home situated on Portpatrick Harbour Wall. The building dates back 1850 when it was used by local fishermen to repair and dry their nets. It sits in a unique position in Portpatrick, looking over the harbour and village from the front and to Donaghadee on the Irish east coast from the rear.

Designed for relaxing getaways, the Bait House has three bedrooms and can sleep up to six guests. We can also accommodate up to two four legged friends! The house has been operating as a holiday home for over 15 years and has been newly decorated at the beginning of 2024 with a fresh lick of paint, some new furnishings, upgraded wood burning stove and storage heating creating a cosy retreat from the Scottish elements.

The house offers a spacious open plan living room and kitchen fully equipped with everything you would need with a multi-fuel burning stove for those chilly nights. The open plan kitchen and living room takes full advantage of all seascapes and harbour outlooks with balconies on either side and double opening doors.

The house has a large Master Bedroom Suite with king sized bed and en-suite bathroom, two twin bedrooms and a large family bathroom. Guests are provided with complimentary WiFi, full linens, board games, DVD’s, WiFi/Bluetooth sound system and Smart TV.

At the side of the property there is ample parking in a large public car park for your vehicles and of course, you can load/unload in front of the house on the harbour.

As you can see in the images, the Bait House is treated to some of the most amazing views throughout the year. Being the only house on that side of the Harbour and making it truly unique, the views are completely interrupted, and the sunsets are phenomenal! On a clear night the lights of Belfast can be seen just across the water in the distance!

The Bait House will suit anyone longing for a taste of tranquil village life, a relaxing retreat plus a wealth of activities and amenities at their fingertips whilst offering access to the great outdoors!     Lovely house in a great location right on the harbour. We visited with 6 of us & two dogs & there was plenty of space for us all. Would recommend a stay here.
