From the owner

Beautiful lodge for a winter escape - cosy, log burner, superking bed, hot tub and only ten minute walk into centre of town with various pubs and eateries.

Come and unwind at Larches Lodge in the Shropshire Hills AoNB, uniquely situated just a 10 minute walk into the centre of the picturesque town of Church Stretton. The lodge has a luxury hot tub, elevated decked area and outdoor fire pit. And in the winter months snuggle up in warmth and enjoy the mesmerising flames of the Hobbit log burning stove!

A two night stay is required on this booking platform but one night is possible if there is a 1 night gap in calendar - please search for Larches Lodge on g00g1e maps and call/text for best offer.

The lodge is an authentic Norwegian log cabin in a secluded part of the owners garden among a canopy of larch trees. Admire the outstanding views over the town of Church Stretton - often referred to as “Little Switzerland”, unwind in your private hot tub, or just sit back and relax with an evening drink on the decking, warmed by the electric heater. In the cooler months the log burner is a mesmerising and relaxing addition.

Larches Lodge is accessed from a dedicated parking area by a gravel path (approx 40m long) located along the lower level of the owners’ secluded, tiered garden. It’s a unique, magical space and yet only a short walk into Church Stretton town centre with its eateries and pubs, independent specialist shops and attractions including Carding Mill Valley and The Long Mynd hills. After a day’s activities retreat into your personal haven and relax.

In more detail this self-catering studio accommodation is a comfortable 325ft² (30m²) and is furnished to a high standard including :-

• Private decked balcony along one side of the chalet with table and chairs and electric heater - set within a small copse of larch trees overlooking Church Stretton

• Hot tub with jets and LED lights (30-45 mins per session, max usage 180 mins/day, please close by 10.30pm at the latest)

• Traditional wooden log chalet interior with scatter rug and open plan bedroom, sitting, dining and kitchen area

• Luxurious superking (6ft wide) bed, wardrobe, drawers and under-bed pull out storage. Bed linen and towels provided and fitted prior to your arrival.

• "The Hobbit" wood burner provides real fire ambience for those cosy winter evenings. Kindling, logs and firelighters included.

• Sitting area has a large leather sofa, 40” full HD TV with YouView box (offering streaming services - and Netflix if you have an account). DVD player and DAB radio/BT speaker.

• Dining area with oak table and chairs for two people

• Fully equipped kitchen including a multi-function fan oven, microwave, two ring electric hob, extractor fan and numerous utensils

• Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee espresso coffee machine

• Bathroom with large shower cubicle (1200 x 800) and powerful mixer shower, toilet, basin and fan heater

• Numerous lighting options including faux antler ceiling pendant with LED candles, wall LED candle lights, bedside lamps and kitchen LED spotlights

• Wi-Fi internet access at fibre broadband speeds

• Radiators controlled by a Nest thermostat (max 21ºC) supplied by a recently-installed air source heat pump.

• Price includes typical electricity usage (please note the outdoor electric patio heater requires a £1 or 20p coin)

• Check-in from 3pm, check-out by 10.30am - please enquire for earlier or later times

• Outside fire pit area (you're welcome to bring along a small disposable BBQ if desired)

Church Stretton town centre is an easy stroll away offering specialist shops, a good-sized Co-op supermarket, cafes, restaurants, a wine bar, pubs, an antiques market, golf course and railway station. The train takes you to the centre of medieval Shrewsbury or the historic market town of Ludlow in approximately 15 minutes and is on the mainline from Cardiff to Manchester.

The chalet is adjacent to Mark & Sara’s house but the entrance is on the furthest side (see TripAdvisor reviews) and a wall & sail shades ensure the lodge is private however inevitably there may be a bit of noise overspill. A 40m gravel path leads to the chalet and is shared with Oaks Lodge guests. The 50m private drive from Watling Street is quite steep which less mobile individuals may find a little challenging. Sorry but No Dogs due to our lovely cats owning the garden.

In consideration of neighbours there should be no outdoor music at any time and we kindly request that all noise is curtailed after 9.30pm (10pm Fri/Sat). Strictly 2 persons max.
