Welcome to Villa Hilal, situated in the foothills of the Taurus mountains on the edge of the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. This luxury detached villa is a successful blend of contemporary and traditional Turkish decor and furnishings It was built as a family home and is exceptionally well equipped. The villa has all the ingredients for a perfect holiday. Situated in an elevated location with panoramic views over Kalkan and out to sea. Villa Hilal has three double bedrooms all with ensuite marble bathrooms, including a Jacuzzi bath, a further bathroom on the ground floor, a large comfortable lounge with sat TV and internet access, dining area, granite American style kitchen, balconies, and a furnished roof terrace. The luxury also extends outside to its large, furnished pool terrace, 9 metre pool, children's pool, al fresco dining area, stone and gas BBQs and traditional Turkish kosk where you can lounge on cushions and enjoy a few drinks as the sun sets or seek shade from the sun.
Villa Hilal is on the hillside overlooking Kalkan and has stunning panoramic views across the town, the bay and the Taurus mountains.
It is located on the fringe of Akbel village in a developing area of Turkish family homes and new contemporary holiday villas.
The villa is just a few minutes drive from Kalkan old town, harbour and beach and 5 minutes walk from shops and a local market.
The villa accommodates 6 people comfortably. All rooms have sea views. There are marble floors and staircases throughout and attractive concealed lighting in the lounge, which has traditional Turkish rugs and cushions. This villa is particularly suitable for families with young children because of the additional children's pool, although young children should still be supervised outside.
The large well furnished pool terrace enjoys day long sunshine and the spectacular views. It has a stone traditional BBQ and a modern gas BBQ. It has a large pergola for shade and has six teak sunbeds, cushions, tables,and parasols. The pool which may be illuminated at night is 9 x 4 metres, with a shallow end of 1.20 metres and a deep end of 1.7 metres. There is also a small child’s pool. For alfresco dining both the pool terrace and the roof terrace have marble topped tables and chairs. An unusual feature is the Turkish “kosk” where you can relax on cushions in traditional style, a perfect place for relaxing with a drink before or after dinner.

BY LAW BUILDING WORK MUST STOP ON 1ST MAY EACH YEAR SO THERE SHOULD BE NO NOISE OR DISTURBANCE FROM BUILDING WORK DURING YOUR STAY.

Coast/Beach
The villa is less than 5 minutes drive from Kalkan's attractive pebble beach. Alternatively, a 15 minute dolmus ride (local minibus service) will take you to beautiful Kaputas beach, or a 20 minute ride takes you to the famous Patara beach with its 18km of white sand. Patara beach, set in a national park, has been voted one of the Med's most beautiful and undiscovered beaches. Olu Deniz beach, the most photographed in Turkey, is around an hour's drive. Close to Patara and a few minutes drive from the villa are the fascinating and historically important remains of ancient Lycian and Roman cities, Letoon and Xanthos.
Travel
The nearest airport is Dalaman (approx 1.5 hour drive) and flights are direct from the UK. Transfer to and from the airport is usually by private car hire, taxi or minibus. We can help arrange transfers and car hire from Kalkan at competitive prices. Car hire is not essential but is recommended and is readily available in the town. There are also flights to Antalya which is a 3 hour drive.
Distances
Kalkan town centre, 5 mins drive (2.5km). Kaputas beach, 15 min drive. Patara beach, 20 min drive. Kas, 30 min drive. Fethiye, under 1 hour drive.
Other places of interest in the area include the remains of Xanthos (the ancient capital of Lycia), the sunken city of Kekova, the ghost town of Kayakoy, the rock tombs of Tlos, Demre and the Church of St Nicholas (Father Christmas), the mountain villages of Islamlar and Bezirgan, and Saklikent Gorge. A variety of boat trips from the harbour are also available daily.

The villa rental does not include transfers or care hire but we are happy to assist with these for you. A local contact is available to deal with any issues arising whilst you are at the villa. Bedrooms: Bedroom 1: double bed, en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi, balcony with sea view. Bedroom 2: twin beds, en-suite shower room, balcony with sea view. Bedroom 3: twin beds, adjacent shower room. Access via the top landing onto the roof terrace with panoramic sea view, dining table and chairs for six, an outdoor sofa, and two sun loungers
Bathrooms: There are 4 spacious marble shower rooms The 3 ensuites all have showers wcs, washbasins, mirrors, and hairdryers. In addition, the master bathroom has a jacuzzi bath and twin basins. The fourth shower room is on the ground floor.
The American style kitchen has granite worktops, including a breakfast bar, and is comprehensively equipped with modern appliances including a fan oven, large fridge/freezer, hob, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee maker, plus a comprehensive range of utensils, glasses, cutlery and crockery.
The stylish and spacious open-plan living room has a 3-seater sofa, 2 seater sofa, plus an armchair, dining table and six chairs, attractive fireplace, satellite TV, internet access and patio doors to the pool terrace.
The traditional kosk has a raised and covered seating area with Turkish rugs and cushions, perfect for relaxing with a drink as the sun sets or sheltering from the heat of the day.
Cleaning/towels / linen: Towels and bed linen are provided including beach/pool towels, and changed weekly when the villa is cleaned throughout.
The villa is cleaned before arrival and again mid week. The pool is checked daily.

The villa has WiFi available so there is no need for you to be out of touch.
Most shops and restaurants , except very small ones , accept all major credit cards. ATMs are available in the town. American express is not widely accepted.
Air conditioning : All the bedrooms and the sitting room have air conditioning units, these cool the room quickly.
Water : We have had no problems with the local water but generally bottled water is used for drinking and ice making It is fairly inexpensive and available in various sizes.
Electricity in Turkey is 220 volts and the plugs and sockets are standard European two pin, so adaptors are necessary if you have any UK electrical appliances with you.
