From the owner

A highly unique character cottage being part of a former late medieval hall dating back to the 15th Century. Large, farmhouse-style kitchen packed with character features and a Rangemaster stove. Two very comfortable bedrooms; the main bedroom being much bigger with a medieval jetty and vaulted ceiling which indicates that it would have been the 'solar' for the old hall. The front parlour has original Tudor features and a large fireplace with log burning stove. Spacious, modern bathroom with bath and powerful thermostatic shower.

Highly efficient central heating system means that the property is very warm and cosy in the winter. Despite the 'quirky' features like uneven stairs and floors, and the low doorways, The Medlar should be perfectly acceptable for the active elderly and older children. The front door opens onto the pavement and it is only a very short stroll to the town centre where you can buy fresh, local produce from great little shops such as Jane's bakery and the traditional butcher's with their excellent home produced sausages.

Kington is truly a town that time has forgotten! It remains largely unchanged from the 1950's with very friendly people and a much slower pace of life; there are none of the usual "High Street" shops. In their place are several antique shops, galleries, bookshops, a well-stocked local supermarket and a public library with free internet access. There is an award-winning real-ale pub within staggering distance and a luxurious spa with indoor pool and gym just up the road. It is also only a very quick drive/cycle to Kington Golf Course; the highest golf course in England. Walk out of the back door through the private, enclosed courtyard garden and follow your way through the ancient walled burgage paths past the church and up the hill to Offa's Dyke and Hergest Ridge.

Character and comfort - wonderful place

Quirky, historical accommodation in a central location
