The Casita Tranquila is a 2 bedroom private vacation Cottage made from natural woods, located Play Colrada a secluded beach on the Osa Peninsula, 8 South of Puerto Jimenez on the way to Corcovado National Park.

We have monkeys, sloths, Macaws, toucans parrots, hawks, and many more harmless mammals and birds,

Hundreds of tropical trees and plants, Heliconias, ginger, orchids, Papaya, mango, banana, Avacado, and more which you are welcome to pick when in season.

Casita Tranquila has one Queen bed in the first bedroom and a double in the second

The toilet and shower are steps away on the back deck and tropical garden.

IT DOES NOT have electricity, we provide candles and battery-powered fan,

The dining room table has room for up to six people, and the front deck offers an ocean and jungle view view. The kitchen has ceramic countertops and raised bar for sitting. You'll cook on a three ring stove, there are ample shelves for storage and for perishables we supply an ice chest.

The Casita is a surrounded by many types of trees including mango, banana, citrus, avocado, papaya and many exotic tropical hardwoods, plants include orchids, ginger, and heliconias.

The wildlife regularly seen are three species of monkey including howler, white face, and squirrel monkey, sloths, iguanas, coatis, birds are abundant and include scarlet macaws, toucans, hawks, pelicans, tanagers, red and green lored parrots and many more.

The beach is a one minute walk and normally you will have the beach to yourself, there is a fishing point close by.

We can arrange transport, tours, lodging, and activities in Costa Rica and book guides and permits for Corcovado national park.

There is a local bus that passes near the house twice daily from Puerto Jimenez. You can also get in by taxi from Puerto Jimenez.

Local activities include trekking into Corcovado park for a day or multi-day overnight stay at La Sirena Ranger station or on a private reserve. You can also go ocean and mangrove kayaking, go on a canopy zip line tour, surfing, and fishing. We highly recommend doing a boat tour within the Golfo Dulce (sweet gulf), which is a tropical fjord with dolphins, turtles, and twice yearly there are Humpback whales and Whale Shark migrations for breeding. Other activities in the area include visiting a cacao farm and see how chocolate is made (!! consuming some is mandatory !), or just relax on the front deck of the Casita or at the beach and watch the monkeys and birds in the trees above.

    How do damage deposits work?

    Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

    How do I edit my booking?

    You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Roger (the owner) a message.

    If Roger (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
