From the owner

Nestling in 1066 country, about one mile from the beach, this single storey property is set in its own garden within the owner's grounds. Although only 35 yards from the village road, it feels miles from anywhere. There is an en-suite master bedroom, shower room, and welcoming living room leading to 9m x 3m non-slip decking overlooking the countryside. The Retreat is a great base for bird watchers, cyclists, golfers, nature lovers, walkers, and visiting the ancient towns of Rye, Battle and Hastings. You are within easy reach of Romney Marsh, Camber Sands and the continent via Ashford International train link. Shops/PO 200 yards, pub/restaurant 50 yards.

Since 2019 The Retreat has a dedicated internet access.

Gas CH, gas, elec, bed linen and towels are all provided within the cost of your holiday. Other provisions include the following: cot, H/chair, 2 satellite TVs, Video, 2 DVDs, CD, DAB radio, 2 iPod docks, Gas hob, Elec oven, M/wave, W/machine, D/washer, F/freezer, Wi-fi.

Your garden is enclosed. The Retreat features non-slip decking with furniture, accessible from the living room with steps down to the garden. Two outside sets of tables and chairs are provided together with sun loungers and deck/garden chairs, two BBQs and a trampoline. A book and film library, games and puzzles are to be found inside.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jac (the owner) a message.

If Jac (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
