Villa | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Casa Candy is a completely refurbished 4 bedroom villa in Portugal, set in a position overlooking the beautiful beaches of Galé, which are only 300 meters away. The Villa is surrounded by mature and well-maintained gardens showing a blaze of colour most of the year. The Pool is surrounded with flower borders and a terrace boasting the added benefit of a built-in barbecue and a roof top sun terrace. Most evenings you can see spectacular sunsets from the secluded pool and terraces.
The smooth golden beaches are ideally suited for families and young children, with friendly restaurants and bars that make perfect settings in which to view the fantastic sunsets. This Portuguese villa has all the amenities you could require within walking distance including two well stocked supermarkets (with convenient ATM cash machines) plus two mini-marts, bars and restaurants including the exclusive two Michelin stars Vila Joya gourmet restaurant. All of these are only a short, pleasant stroll away.
The villa is 35 minutes drive from Faro Airport (42 km), 10-minute drive from Albufeira and Guia (6 km), 25 minutes to Vilamoura (30 km) and only 90 km from the Spanish border.
Guia has become famous in recent years for its excellent selection of restaurants, and is particularly renowned for specialising in the local favourite “Chicken Piri-Piri”, it is also home to the second largest shopping centre in the Algarve which boasts more than 130 stores, 45 fashion boutiques, 10 pin bowling, multi screen cinema and a variety of restaurants.
The popular town of Albufeira is the biggest and most energetic resort in the Algarve and is awash with bars and cafes. The older quarter of this former fishing village has retained much of its original mellow charm with narrow cobbled streets, whilst located near the Montechoro section of Albufeira, “The Strip” is Albufeira's mini Las Vegas and is a neon-lit runway of hotels, restaurants, bars and discos, which lend the resort its non-stop party atmosphere. Going down “The Strip”, the most popular bars include Erin's Isle pub, the infamous Linekers, Café Del Mar, Mustang, Reno's, La Bamba, Wild & Co. and the extremely popular KISS nightclub.
The new Albufeira Marina has now opened with its array of shops and restaurants.
For those who play golf in the Algarve, the challenging Premier Salgados Golf Course is only 1 mile from the villa. This is an inspiring coastal course, which has a frightening fourteen water hazards.
We have been offering accommodation at our villa in Portugal via the internet for around 10 years via our website. The villa is used frequently by ourselves, the owners, out of season and thus kept to a high quality standard, fully maintained inside & out.
The Villa has been completely refurbished and has all amenities close by to keep children and adults occupied for a relaxing holiday. We normally only rent out the villa for 6 months of the year and use it as our second home.
We chose this villa due to its beautiful location with sea views and easy access to the beach. The villa is on one level with no stairs, so the kids can wonder around safely and the adults can relax in peace. The villa is in quiet surroundings but within a 5 minute stroll you are on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Algarve, plus within easy reach of great bars, excellent restaurants and supermarkets. The villa is also in easy reach from the airport (35 min drive) and the private pool is very child friendly with a gradual decline that gently slopes to a 2 meter depth and has large steps giving easy access.
We feel the unique benefits of the property are the private pool with sea views and beautiful Sunsets. You can be as active or as idle as the mood takes you here. With all the facilities within walking distance there is everything to make your holiday as memorable and enjoyable as possible. The lively Town of Albuferia, Zoo Marine and Water parks are all within a 10 minute drive. The villa is situated within a 10 minute walk to Salgados Golf course. The location is easily accessible to Faro airport which makes the villa and location great for a family holiday.
The villa is also very safe and secure with an Alarm installed that has direct access to a call centre for immediate response. All windows and doors are lockable aluminium, with aluminium security shutters and security bars over windows. Gated front and rear gardens, smoke alarms in each room. The Algarve region
In its history, Albufeira was a thriving seaport and had its own castle that was later destroyed in the earthquake of 1755. Happily, most of the older parts of the town that survived have been carefully maintained. In the Roman times it was know as Baltum that then was later changed by the Moors to Al-Buhera. During the Moors 8th Century occupation the town it was to become an important trading port. In 1532 and in 1755 the place was badly hit by earthquakes, and in the later 227 people unluckily perished under the falling roof inside the parish church. During the "War of the Miguels" the town was besieged and set ablaze. The destroyed town consequently suffered a very long period of poverty and has only really now recovered with the boom of tourism.
As a result of the tide of tourism this once upon a time fishing village has expanded since the 1960s into a major holiday resort and now has over 12,000 permanent residents. The centre of the town changes its character after the sunsets. A plentiful collection of bars, restaurants and clubs start to fill-up with the tourist until they over spill into the narrow streets. There is a good selection of good beaches which run both to the east and west from the town. Praia de Balaia, Praia de Castelo, Praia de Falésia, Praia de Galé, Praia de Olho d’Agua, Praia de Maria Luisa, and Praia de São Rafael, being the main ones. There is a small museum of 15th and 17th century Ming ceramics and a Municipal art gallery that holds regular exhibitions during the season. A new Marina is at present being constructed on the west side of the town.
Other places near to Albufeira are Armacao de Pera, Boliqueime, Guia and Paderne with its ruined castle (Castelo de Paderne) perched on an isolated hill some distance from the village.

Gale has one of the best beaches in the Algarve . The smooth golden beaches are ideally suited for families and young children; with friendly restaurants and bars that make perfect settings in which to view the fantastic sunsets.
Other places near to Albufeira are Armação de Pera, Boliqueime, Guia and Paderne with its ruined castle perched on an isolated hill some distance from the village. At Ponte Grande there are impressive caverns with large arches and the underwater caverns of Grutas do Xorino cave, where it's thought Moors took refuge in the 13th Century when Albufeira was under siege by Christians..
Sometimes a welcome change from beaches and villas, Monchique is all about cobbled streets and rural sentiment, situated in the mountains.
Zoomarine - Located a 10 minute drive East of Albufeira, Zoomarine in a unique aquatic theme park with a firm emphasis on environmental preservation and education. The park features hundreds of fantastic animals such as: sharks, turtles, colourful exotic birds, crocodiles and a good variety of tropical fish. You can enjoy the daily live open-air shows such as the Seal & Sea Lion Show, the Tropical Bird Show, the Birds of Prey Show and the Dolphin Show at Zoomarine, Portugal.
Zoomarine also runs an extremely popular "interaction swim with dolphins" programme, where visitors over 8 years old are allowed to interact in the water with trained bottlenose dolphins under the supervision of specialized professionals.
Zoomarine includes an aquarium museum, an amusement park, swimming pools for adults children and toddlers, a picnic area, shops and restaurants.
Aqualand - This spectacular park features some of the most challenging water slides in the Algarve.
Get ready to take the plunge, as you float through the many exciting twists and turns of The Corkscrew, Raging Rapids, Flying Carpets, Super Surf, Rainbow Park, Crazy Leap, Banzai Boggan or the Kamikaze.
Slide & Splash - Located in the Lagoa area Slide & Splash boasts numerous fun water slides. There are lots of slides to choose from – the more adventurous Kamikaze (hang onto your swimsuit!) and Bonzai (good for racing against a friend), to the slightly less daunting plunge pools and wide lane slides. The children´s area is great - 1200 m of fun. A water spitting dragon, elephant slides, tunnel slides and wide lane slides. In the kids area the water has a maximum height of 40cm.
With over 25,000m of grass areas there is plenty of room for everyone, even at the height of the season. If you’re not inclined to try the slides you can relax in the shade of a palm tree or enjoy a leisurely swim in the Olympic sized pool.
Zebra Safari - The pleasure of being off road, crossing small rivers old tracks or just swimming and relaxing near lakes and rivers, probably will make this day the most memorable of your holiday.
