The Puglia/Molise region

In addition to a dense historical heritage, the Salento is a land rich in natural beauty: starting from Oasis Natural Protected of Cesine (WWF), the numerous caves among which we remember the Zinzulusa (near Castro Marina). Of great interest also is the Natural Park of Portoselvaggio overlooking the Ionian Sea, in the stretch between Tower Pizzo, Gallipoli and Porto Cesareo, it is an impressive succession of woods, creeks, beaches, dunes and cliffs, also overlooking the sea. The Salentine countryside everywhere is cultivated and tree vegetation is mostly composed of stretches of olive trees with twisted trunks and large. The vegetation is also made from prickly pear cactus, which grows spontaneously both inside and along the coast, and the almond tree, which already begins to bloom in mid-January. In spring, the ground under the olive trees, the edge of paths and roads, and the interstices of stone walls, are covered with flowers in an explosion of colors ranging from bright yellow to red poppies of crocuses.
The ribs are wide and sandy, especially on the Ionian Sea, whose waters at this latitude are characterized by transparency and colors rare, are the spectacular cliffs overlooking the sea, especially on the Adriatic Sea. Among the most popular beaches are those sandy of Ugento, Pulsano, Porto Cesareo, Gallipoli, Santa Maria di Leuca, Otranto, and as for the rocky shore, among the most outstanding merit citation Castro, Santa Cesarea Terme, Nonaglie and Porto Badisco. The caves are open along the east coast, set into the steep cliffs from Santa Maria di Leuca arrive in Punta Palascìa (Otranto).

The Galatina area

Galatina is located in a strategic location, land between two seas, the Ionian and the Adriatic, is the ideal starting point for discovering the whole Salento, in a few minutes to reach the beaches of Gallipoli and Otranto, or to discover City of Art extraordinary as Lecce.
Galatina for its ancient traditions associated with the presence of numerous wine cellars, is the "City of Wine" in the province of Lecce and is part of a territory very careful with the cooking traditions of Salento. Numerous restaurants and inns are in the area.
