Kerry Cottage, Creag Mhor
Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Kerry Cottage offers both a secluded location in a wooded glen and easy access to the pristine beach and harbour area of Gairloch. This pet-friendly, single-storey property has two bedrooms accommodating a maximum of four guests. The interior of the cottage is cosy and comfortable and seems to mirror the tranquillity of the exterior. Guests will no doubt gravitate towards the lovely kitchen & dining room with its pretty outlook over the well established cottage gardens. Aside for its sublime setting, a truly delightful feature of this property is the sheltered balcony complete with all-weather garden furniture; a charming spot to linger over a pot of coffee or glass of chilled white wine with only the local birdsong for company. Electricity to the property is supplied via a payment meter. However, the owner provides the first £15 which equates to the average weekly usage. Kerry Cottage has off-road parking for two cars and would be a super base for exploring this incredibly beautiful region.

The Scottish Highlands region
Natural and untouched, a place that has been unspoilt by the demands of tourism or commercial interests, the Highlands of Scotland is one of Britain's most beautiful and stunning holiday destinations. Here you will find Britain's highest mountain ranges, miles of open countryside and a multitude of lochs; all this and an untouched coastline with picturesque coves and pristine clean beaches. This is the place for a great ‘outdoors' holiday with plenty of activities for all ages; including wonderful walking and cycling, canoeing, fishing, golf and sailing, beach combing and wildlife watching. The list goes on. There are also lots of historical sites and ancient towns to discover in the Highlands which you'll find throughout the region as you travel along its quiet and beautiful country roads.
Gairloch is the departure point for a number of highly praised boat trips, some in glass-bottomed boats, providing a superb introduction to the area's rich marine life. They also offer an excellent chance of seeing a whale or dolphin close to hand. Sea-fishing boat trips are popular here and easily available from the harbour area. Bird watchers will enjoy the boat trip over to Shaints Islands, which are home to an astonishing number and range of sea birds. The Gairloch Heritage Museum is well worth a visit and provides an interesting overview of the area's history. Lovers of public gardens must visit the highly regarded Inverwe Gardens located close to Poolewe and view the superb collection of interesting and exotic plants on display. A delightful way to explore this area is on horseback and pony-treking facilities are readily available such as the Gairloch Treking Centre. For a true holiday treat why not book a session at Beautopia based near Gairloch? This offers first class beauty treatments from a converted croft building overlooking the sea.
