H3, Borgo di Gaiole
Apartment | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 6
A fabulous place to relax, this apartment is at the edge of the Borgo furthest from the road. Designed in a traditional style incorporating a range of modern comforts and facilities, the apartment is the best of both worlds. Stone tiled floors with chestnut beams overhead give a smart but homely feel.
It is on the ground floor with one small step into the front door and no further steps internally, so very accessible for those less able, or those managing small children, pushchairs etc. There is an open-plan kitchen and living room with access through double doors to the terrace, also features large comfortable beds, and a small bath with shower fittings.
The sun hits the terrace for breakfast and again later for dinner, but the building shades it during the midday heat -perfect!
Outside chairs and tables are provided.
The apartment is directly above the underground car park - with loading access to the front door.

|Further details indoors|
The traditional Tuscan style cool stone walls, terracotta floors and dark chestnut beams give a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere to the interior of the apartment which also has air conditioning/central heating and double glazing. The kitchen is well-equipped with full-sized oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and plenty of food storage space. There are large comfortable beds in airy bedrooms.
The Borgo is a short stroll up from the village and all it's amenities - shops, cafes, restaurants, banks, post office - even Scooter hire!
Our local agent is happy to help with any difficulties or translations.
|Further details outdoors|
A large half-moon shaped swimming pool is in the centre of the complex overlooking the village, it has an outdoor area with sunbeds to relax and appreciate the panoramic view.
Beneath this and accessed via the lift is the lovely, cool gymnasium equipped with a variety of fitness machines, changing rooms and showers.
Each apartment has a parking place in the underground garage plus extra outside parking.
There is also a free-to-use laundry room close to the apartment.
We have found the multinational fellow users of the Borgo to be quiet, friendly and helpful – after all, they are also there to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere that the climate and environment inspire.
Most times there are only a few apartments occupied - you may be swimming on your own!
This is a marvelous place to experience! So many delightful sights and experiences... you won't want to leave...
The Tuscany region
This region has national park status and so has been well preserved, both with a lack of modern type building and with a good diversity of wild life still present in the local woodlands. You can walk through the olive groves or take a cycle ride along the white lanes – you may spot beech martens, deer, wild boar, falcons, and foxes – well worth bringing binoculars.
Chianti is, of course, famous for it's production of superb wines and olive oils. Many of the best wineries are close to Gaiole, which is situated in the heart of the Classico region, with most of them providing tours and tastings.
Also within easy reach are ancient castles, abbeys and a converted monastery hidden amongst the hills and valleys, ideal for day trips out on the winding roads. Turning a corner can suddenly bring you the most fabulous views.
Check out the CHIANTI CASTLES ROUTE.
If you're looking for something grander Siena, Florence, and famous designer shopping malls are only a short drive away.
The apartment is just 5 mins walk from the centre of Gaiole in Chianti, which has a good variety of shops and restaurants, and a well informed tourist office (also providing bike and scooter hire).
Gaiole in Chianti
Gaiole is a pretty village in the heart of the Chianti region, close to Siena, surrounded by extraordinarily charming historic towns and beautiful countryside.
The village has a good mixture of shops, including a Co-op, pharmacy, post office and bank, traditional delicious delis, a variety of enticing restaurants, lazy cafes and busy bars providing mouth-watering local produce. The local shop-keepers are friendly and accommodating, usually knowing at least a smattering of English.
In the summer time a range of evening entertainments are on offer in the square at the centre of the village.
Gaiole also plays host to the start of the Famous “Eroica” bike race, and many other cycling events during the year.
It's a little village with a lot going on.

"Wonderful place to stay in the heart of the Chianti region"

"Comfortable new apartment in a traditional style, highly recommended."
The apartment has a lovely view over the town and the hills beyond. It's an easy walk down into the town centre which has bars, restaurants and a pizza cafe, though it's uphill (and quite steep) all the way back. The region is hilly with fantastic scenery. We only stayed a short while but what we saw of the nearby towns & villages made us book a return visit to investigate more.
The apartment was spotless with simple but tasteful decor.
The drive from Pisa airport takes about 2 hours, but the exit off the motorway is poorly signposted, so full navigational attention is suggested.
