About the home

A 3 bedroom gite set on 8 acres of secluded countryside, with all the modern conveniences of home to keep you and the family entertained.

Poppy has 1 double room and 2 twin rooms, lounge with wood burning fireplace, kitchen and outside decking area with table and BBQ.

Poppy's location allows for easy access to some wonderful sights and experiences of the traditional countryside as well as being in driving distance of some notable towns and Paris!

Decking area with table & chairs to make full use of the barbecue. Games room on site with table tennis, darts, air hockey, fuzz ball & pool table. Swing & slide set also on site.

Enough wood for a fire. Additional wood can be purchased on request. Thermostatically controlled electric heaters in every room.

Smokers welcome but not allowed indoors. Decking area available for smoking.

Conditions

Usual arrival/departure day is Saturday but different days can be arranged on request.

£100 deposit upon booking and full payment 6 weeks before arrival date. If booking is made less than 6 weeks before arrival, payment will be due immediately.

Security deposit of £100 to be paid when full payment is made and is refunded via cheque.

The Normandy / Orne region

Normandy consists of a lot of rolling countryside so naturally is home to a lot of farming (typically dairy and apple orchards) and also home to a lot of famous French cheeses including Camembert, Livarot, Pont l'Évêque, Brillat-Savarin, Neufchâtel, Petit Suisse and Boursin.

Normandy contains some colourful history, including being the main invasion point for the Allied forces during World War II and there are plenty of attractions chronicling this.

The Gace / Bocquence area

Le Ferte Fresnel is the nearest town and has all the local shops, pubs, restaurants etc. and is located approx 5km away from the gite.

Vimoutiérs is a small town which, throughout the year host a range of sporting events including the 24 hour cart and bike races, and even the Tour De France during certain years. There are various bars and restaurants catering for most tastes. Also close to Vimoutiers is the historic village of Ticheville which boasts one of the few vegetarian restaurant's in the region.

“A wonderful family holiday in a beautiful tranquil location” When we arrived, which was evening time, we were greeted by the owners to ensure we had everything we needed. No request was too great. All the facilities you need in a self catering property are included. The property is situated in the countryside in a beautiful tranquil location, but it's only a short journey to attractions, supermarket and shopping centres. We chose a relaxing holiday, visiting a number of nearby attractions, and there was plenty to keep us all entertained, including a games room for the children. You could also choose to spend each day visiting attractions as there are plenty to see within a reasonable distance.

“Beautiful and relaxing surroundings, rural france at its best.....” What a wonderful relaxing break my husband and I had, the Gite is fabulous with all the comforts of home, the area is beautiful and perfect for exploring Normandy, although we will have to return again, as the temptation to stay in and relax with local bread, cheese and wine was too great! Steve and Shivena were on hand with some great advice on local restaurants (ask them for the details of a beautiful Vegetarian restaurant - gorgeous food) and places to visit, I would especially like to thank them for the welcome pack with the deilcious croissants and bread which was just what we needed after the journey down. We Had a wonderful time at the gite in spring,the house was very comfortable and nice to be in,our lively 3 year old loved plating on the swings and slide outside and exploring the feilds it was great to have so much outdoor space,villages and markets great
