The Algarve region

The Algarve has been a popular destination for many years and the East Algarve is still largely unspoilt with many traditional fishing villages and towns. A selection of water parks are nearby open from May to October for a great family day out. Portugal is a favourite destination for golfers and the Fuzeta area will not disappoint.

Fuzeta

Fuzeta is a typical Portuguese fishing village surrounded by citrus plantations and vineyards. A colourful indoor market and lively town square form the heart of the village. In Fuzeta you will find everything you need within walking distance of the apartment with many shops, local supermarkets, bakeries, banks, a post office, and a chemist along with a great variety of bars and restaurants. The area has unique island beaches with golden sands and warm waters which can be easily accessed by ferry and water taxi during the summer months. The Formosa River National Park is a haven for wildlife and many boat trips are available from the local marina to watch dolphins or try a spot of deep sea fishing.

"Lovely apartment with great pool."

Fuseta is a charming fishing village with a very Portuguese atmosphere. It has a lovely safe & clean beach in the town or you can get a ferry across to the bigger beach. We prefered the smaller town beach. There are lots of bars and places to eat and a fish and fresh produce market. The langoustines were wonderful about 12 euros a Kg.wine is cheap and very good.
The apartment was clean and newly decorated and well fitted, it is however quite a distance into Fuseta close on a mile. Luckily there was a bag on wheels to use as bringing back shopping would have been a problem. The back courtyard area is very open and has no privacy and the neighbours have three dogs in an enclosure which at times was a bit smelly in the heat. Francisco met us at the airport which was organised by Jane who met us at the apartment. Jane was really helpful and was available through our stay if needed.
We just loved Fuseta and will definetly go back.

"Food, fun, sun, comfort and peace!"

I went to this apartment with a friend and it was really great. The area is really quiet (Which was a plus for us) and the distance from the beach is only a minute away by car and a gentle walk if you prefer. Having been before I knew the area and went back to sample the fantastic food (Lots of fish restaurant in the town along with a well-stocked supermarket) Just what you need for this fantastic self-catering apartment. The airport is only half an hour away and the road signs are very easy to follow. The hire car deal that we struck was so good that we hired the car for the week saving on taxis to the airport for our flight that were also very reasonable.
The apartment is at the beginning of the town and the complex face a nature reserve so you just have fantastic uninterrupted views. We were show the apartment which is fully specked and to a very high standard. It must be brand new. Everything was very stylish and along with the Air Con in all rooms we had a great stay and the weather was glorious. The pool was not overly warm but the see was extremely warn and it was still October!!!
Usual washing machine and dishwasher bathrooms with good showers. Bight living area with a 5mtr window that open a for a lovely sea view. At the back a small garden with table and chair and plenty of sunbeds by the private pools accessed by a door entry system. Just great.
Fuzeta and the beach, have many restaurant and varying style and price but very cheap and excellent quality. Menu can be a little vague as it is whatever the boat caught that morning. It so fresh that you realise how pour our fish is at home!!
The island a short ferry ride away, very cheap 1.5euros (really quick) has the best beach with a choice of south or north facing shores which we found useful in not having sun in our faces all the time. bars/restaurants. No problems. Zoo-Marine and all other attractions are less than hour away, plenty to do for 2 or 3 weeks.
A great apparent, great country, very reasonable prices and plenty of sunshine. We are definitely going back!

"Very nice apartment, has everything you need"

We chose this apartment after a lot of discussion as we were unsure about the area and the distance from the beach etc. We received instructions detailing how to get from the airport which were great and easy to follow. Jane met us at the apartment and showed us round. The apartment was very clean and everything was of good quality. All rooms have air conditioning. The washing machine and dishwasher were easy to use. Both bathrooms had good showers. The kitchen was well stocked with nice cutlery and crockery. The living area has 2 huge windows that open a for a lovely sea view. The garden is small and doesn't really face anywhere apart from the back of a building but with such a lovely beach we didn't use it. The swimming pools are on two levels, they were very cold on some days but bearable! Nice sunbeds at pool side. It was very quiet around the apartments which was good for us with a 3 year old who needed to sleep.
The apartment is a good 12-15 min walk into the center of Fuzeta and the beach, which walking back in the heat especially with children can be a bit much. We had a car which I would definitely recommend. Fuzeta has a small beach which has a very calm sea but is full of shells. The better beach is on the island which can be reached by ferry. This is very cheap 1.5euros per adult and is really quick and easy to use. We were a bit worried about this but we never had to wait for the ferry and the beach is definitely worth it. It has lovely sand and 3 bars/restaurants plus toilets. Everything you need! We ate once in Fuzeta and it was ok, we visited Tavira a few times which is lovely. The Tavira lounge especially was excellent. We visited Vilamoura twice and ate at the Marina, which was fantastic. We had a day at Zoo Marine which was about 1 hour away but a great day out. We used the Continente supermarket in Tavira which had everything we needed. The advantage staying on the East is that food etc is a lot cheaper. I would definitely recommend the apartment and the area.
