We stayed in the top floor apartment. This was beautiful, spacious and comfortable with a lovely balcony from which to watch the cruise ships coming in and out of funchal . The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. I would recommend it. If you are a light sleeper take the back double bedroom or ask the people who manage if they have triple glazed the front twin room as they plan to do.

The apartment was much nearer the sea than I expected so close that you could hear the music faintly from the Cruise Liners as they passed by. Beautiful views across the ocean. “This modern 2 bedroom apartment is spacious, beautifully furnished and fully equipped.”
This is only the second time that we risked renting a holiday apartment after a bad experience in Malta some years ago. The apartment is everything that you see in the pictures, newly renovated, furnished to a high standard, spacious and bright. The balcony looks out over the Atlantic and we had a grandstand view of the Saturday night fireworks display (every Saturday in June). You can literally lie in bed and watch the cruise ships and Porto Santo ferry coming in and out of the harbour.
This top floor apartment in a restored villa, is situated a pleasant 10 minute walk from the famous fruit and flower market and the cable car to Monte and the Botanical Gardens. A word of warnig - high heels are a definite no no on the cobbled streets. Once we had figured out the bus schedules we opted to take the number 40 bus from town when we had shopping to carry as it is quite an uphill walk back to the villa. The bus stop is right outside the door.
