How to arrive at the apartment (from the airport): Go to Funchal city (approximately 15 minutes by car); exit of the fast way n.º 12 (Campo da Barca); Funchal (Pena), go straight down, turn right (Campo da Barca) until the traffic lights - then turn right. Go up until finding a garden in the right side with a great chimney in the way. The apartment is in the first building after the garden. To arrive at the entrance door and garage, turn right on second street after the garden.

"L'appartamento è molto carino, rinnovato da pochissimo (si sente ancora l'odore di vernice) è molto vicino al centro e lontano dalla zona alberghiera, cosa che consente di vivere la reale vita di funchal... agli itaniani mancherà solo la macchina del caffè, ma un piccolo bar proprio sotto casa ovvierà alla mancanza, per il resto non manca niente: lavatrice, lavastoviglie, spremiagrumi, tostapane, frigorifero, forno... non dimentichiamo il parcheggio privato che, se si ha una macchina a noleggio, è molto utile. La signora è molto gentile e disponibile e anche se non abbiamo avuto la possibilità di conoscerla di persona non possiamo far altro che ringraziarla per il suo aiuto nonostante le difficoltà di lingua... "An nice, inexpensive place in Funchal" "My husband and I spent four days in Funchal, Madeira and loved staying in the apartment. While the apartment was not in the heart of the city, it was close enough for us to walk there -- which is where you'll find an abundance of restaurants and shops. You don't need a car; the public transportation is good. The apartment offers all the amenities we needed -- and it was very clean, safe, and well-maintained. Compared to other rentals, this one provides great value for your money. One of the most pleasant features was Carla, the owner. She helped organize transportation for us; she was most helpful and consistently replied quickly to emails. Knowing she was there if we needed her, gave our stay that extra touch.
