The Funchal area

Since the opening of a new coastal promenade, the Lido area in Funchal, already well known for the many tourist facilities it offers, developed even more into an extensive leisure zone much appreciated by locals as well as tourists.With palm trees and and colourful gardens, this promenade goes all the way from Lido area to the Praia Formosa beach at the western end of Funchal, offering breathtaking views over the sea and towards Cabo Girão to all those who stroll walk or run along there …or who just relax on one of the many benches!

Many airlines fly to Madeira. Average flight time 3 hrs 30 minutes. The portuguese airline TAP(www.flytap.pt) flies daily from Gatwick . Easyjet now flies from Gatwick,Standsead and Bristol.
It's possible to organize your transfer from and to airport by car upon request, 35 euros each way.

“Lovely apartment in a buzzy area” The apartment was really lovely and very well equipped - having both a balcony and a sun terrace was great! The location was excellent. So close to the shops and restaurants. Only one criticism - it really needs airconditioning or fans as it does get hot and the traffic and noise from the restaurant below can keep you awake - they start work again at 5am and that will wake you in the morning! I always travel with ear plugs so I wasn't bothered by it but it could be an issue for some. Despite that Thank u for a fab holiday!
