The Andalucia region
Spain's 'sunshine coast' is one of Europe's favourite holiday destinations. With an average of 320 days of blue sky annually, it is perfect as a summer holiday or as a winter destination for golfers, walkers and those wishing to pursue out -door activities. Families are particularly well catered for, with myriad attractions, restaurants and of course miles of beaches. Children are not just tolerated but welcomed by the friendly Spanish people.
Despite the march of development, the area still has the ambience of Andalucía, the most 'Spanish' of all regions and you do not have to venture far from your holiday home to encounter local ferias, fiestas and romerias - the scent of Jasmine is in the air, inexpensive wine is flowing freely- come and enjoy!
Fuengirola is the most family orientated of all the Costa Del Sol resorts. Its main attraction is the big safe sweep of beach with restaurants and bars catering for families on holiday. The Moorish castle Castillo de Sohail rebuilt in the 18th Century dominates the western end of the town and makes a great back drop with gardens complete with Roman ruins running down to the beach. In the old part of the town bars and restaurants are clustered around the Plaza de La Constitution which is lively in the evenings.
Fuengirola Zoo is the most modern in Spain and is a great day out that shouldn't be missed by children or adults. From May to September, children will love Parque Aquatico with great slides and watery attractions for both older and younger children
The pretty white village of Mijas, a 10 minute drive up the mountain is well worth a visit for its splended views and attractive winding streets with their flower bedecked patios and craft and arts shops and the famous donkey 'taxis' .
Another excellent nearby attraction is the Cable car at Arroyo de Miel, fantastic views, a show of Spanish horsemanship and a show of Birds of Prey which they fly in the thermals above the hill weather permitting, and donkey riding.

"Very good... indeed!"
We stayed in this Villa from 4th to 11th of May 2013. There were 11 of us, 3 families.
When we arrived, there was English speaking man to meet us called Michael who told us everything we needed to know about Villa. He was very kind and helpful and gave us great advices and tips.
Villa was absolutely fantastic. The property includes everything you need. Pool was good and kept clean by Irish man Jeff who helped us a lot in our little problems.
The only draw back was the hill to the bottom, great going down but quite tiring coming up.
Only 100 meters away was very good restaurant Las Islas. Just stairs up to the top of the hill and you are there. Remember to book first if you are going!
We had a worderful holiday in a wonderful place. We are going back someday for sure.

amazing property, with everything you need, even a slide/play cube for young kids, and inflatables to play in pool. Very clean on arrival, and friendly, English speaking man to meet us called Michael who gave us great advise and tips for our stay, he was very helpful. Pool was kept clean by a nice Irish man twice during our week stay, one huge tip for you is to take swim t-shirts with you for the children, as you were not allowed to wear sun cream in the pool, this was a drawback of the pool, and my children burnt. Nice quiet area, not much traffic, and the walk down to the beach was nice, but coming back is bit of a challenge - very steep!! The beach was amazing, we felt safe there, it was definitely a family feel. Great English restaurant called Ocean something on the beach front, reasonable and tasty. A wonderful holiday in a wonderful location, would go back again for sure.

"A Great Stay in Torreblanca"
We stayed in this Villa in September 2010. the Villa was fantastic, loads of space and as there was a few of us we felt we were not ontop of each other. The rooms were all very spcaious and the pool area was fantastic. Outside the main sitting room area( which was very spacious), there was a great BBq area with a hugh table sitting upto 12 people plus. The local shop was only a five minute walk away with a choice of an English pub and Irish pub! ( Also the train stop was here aswell which took you down the Costa del sol coast) .The Villa itslef was fantastic (very clean and well kept)and I would defintly recommend it to anyone !!!

"You may want to choose another villa in this area"
The villa was quite nice but the owner made our holiday not-so-relaxing by extremely poor customer service. Loved the location on the hill though. A bit long walk to the beach and shops but nice views… More
