Malaga is a Port City and has much to offer the tourist. Things to see are: The King's Palace (Alcazaba) and Castillo de Gibralfaro, Cathedral, Museums, Churches, Picasso Museum and birthplace. It is a fabulous shopping area with lots of narrow streets and tapas bars. (website - www.andalucia.com) There is an excellent theatre in the centre of Malaga - Cervantes Theatre. Events can be found on their web-site (www.teatrocervantes.com) Train station in central Malaga with many routes for touring.
The Fuengirola / Puebla Lucia area
Publa Lucia is an exclusive residential area in the heart of Fuengirola. A gated 'Pueblo' providing an oasis of peace and tranquility and yet within a short walking distance to everything required. Five minutes walk to the bus and train terminus. Beach, promenade, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, open-air markets, Salon Varietes English speaking theatre (not in high season), concert hall and hospital are all minutes walk away. The puebla has three excellent swimming pools. There is also a first class restaurant and cafe/bar overlooking the fountains and beautiful gardens. Puebla Lucia is perfect for the holiday maker looking for quality accommodation within a peaceful environment. This is an ideal location. Buses and trains take you to many places of interest ie; Malaga, Mijas, Marbella, Cadiz, Ronda, Cordoba, Seville, Granada and Gibraltar (passport for Gib) A car is definitely not essential.
Fuengirola is a large Spanish town about twenty minutes drive from Malaga Airport. It has seven kilometres of tree lined promenade (flat for easy walking) and fabulous sandy beaches with magnificent views of the Mediterranian. Most residents in Fuengirola are Spanish nationals with a large percentage of British and other nationalities. The town hosts many local fiestas throughout the year. The most famous events are Semana Santa (Easter Week) and Feria Week in October.

Most budget airlines have daily flights to Malaga Airport. There is a taxi rank outside arrivals, but it is much cheaper to use the train which is now inside the airport. Directions for train to Fuengirola are: Coming out from Malaga Airport arrivals, turn left and you will see the train signs. After a few yards, cross over the road to the train station. The ticket machines are just inside, and the cost to Fuengirola is just over 2 euros per person. The escalator takes you down to the train arrivals and departures. The very last stop is Fuengirola (underground). When you arrive at Fuengirola station, you will need your train ticket to get you through the turnstile. The steps to the right will take you to the railway exit and Fuengirola. At the top of the steps there is Fountain opposite and supermarket to the left. Turn left, passing the supermarket and continue up this road for a few yards (Avenida Alcalde Clemente Diaz Ruis) Cross over to the hospital (Clinic Salus) and continue walking up this road. Puebla Lucia is a gated residential area on the right between Clinic Salus at the bottom and Barclays Bank at the top)

My friends and I have just returned from a holiday in this beautiful apartment, everything you may need is in there! We take a holiday in Fuengirola every year and would like to say that this is the by far the best accomodation we have had. There is everything you need to make your stay comfortable, pleasant and relaxing. Christine is most accomodating and Charles is so friendly and helpful, and they do everything to make your stay a holiday to remember. I shall certainly berecommending this apartment all my friends and family. Thanks for a great holiday. |
