Further details indoors:
Kitchen, modern but tiny, includes a washing machine, microwave, twin hot rings, fridge/freezer, Moulinex cooker, electric orange juice press, toaster, coffee percolator and kettle. Lounge with comfortable bed settee. Spanish digital TV. CD Player/Radio The apartment is well equipped - this is more a home rather than a rental property and I have tried to do everything to make my guests comfortable. Please respect my personal possessions and let me know if there are any essentials you feel I have omitted to supply.
Further details outdoors:
The complex has well maintained gardens and a good sized pool, together with a learner pool. The pool hours are from 8.00am/10.00pm. There is a barriered car park with additional spaces provided immediately outside the complex.
Beach and Sun:
There is a beach 1km away, just across the main road, reached through the Playa restaurant. The beach at La Cala is also pretty good and a lot quieter. Be careful with the very hot sun. 15 minutes unprotected is enough to burn, even out of main season. You have been warned!
Travel and sights:
Malaga airport 20 minutes. Spanish public transport is relatively cheap. The blue and yellow buses across the N340 at the bottom of the hill will take you to Fuengirola; the stop on the apartment side of the road is for La Cala and Marbella. From Fuengirola, a trip to Ronda is recommended. The bus station is a short walk from the railway station towards the seafront. Locally based taxis will pick you up from the apartment, generally within 5 minutes of your call. Phone 952 476593 or 952 478288. There is a train from the airport to Fuengirola and a taxi rank sits outside Fuengirola station. A local mini market is beside the restaurant Colinas del Faro, which is fine for basics.

The Costa del Sol region
Take the train from Fuengirola to Malaga, the two-hour drive to Granada to see the Alhambra is well worth it and North of Malaga is the lovely little town of Antiquera where you should visit the old town around the old castle. Coming south of there, there are some amazing rock formations in El Torcal. The little road south of there back to Malaga is very interesting, if a bit hairy at times!
Gibraltar is also worth a look, but leave the car on the Spanish side and walk across or take a bus. Otherwise the border formalities can take ages. A day trip to North Africa is interesting but the hawkers in Tangier make the timeshare touts look like amateurs. Don’t attempt the trip on your own; a tour guide protects you - in Arabic! Loads of places arrange the trips - buses will pick you up in the lay-by on the main road at the bottom of the hill if you are going West and across the road via the bridge if you are heading East to places like Granada.
The Fuengirola / El Faro area
You are spoilt for choice. Try the area around Orange Square in Marbella, and, a bit further west, a visit to see how the other half lives in Puerto Banus is a must. You will see private motor-cruisers bigger than warships!

We wanted to escape the dark and cold days of Finland's mid winter. Based mainly on the view shown on advertisement we picked this location. We could not have done a better choise. The 180 degree sea view from the terrace is just something you never get tired of. No picture can match it. The apartment was as advertised. The kitchen has it's space limitations but we could cook enything we wanted. We have had a principle never to travel twice to same place but with this place it is very easy to break. |

We spent a lovely bank holiday weekend in August at this apartment in El Faro. Check in was easy and straightforward and everyone in the Urbanization was very friendly and open to offering advice on restaurants and points of interest. We walked to El Faro beach. Costa Mijas and Fuengirola although depending on heat and fitness this might not be for everyone. The apartment was well equipped - although the Sky remote was a teaser as there was no satellite TV available - not that we particularly need it as we spent most of our time on the sunny balcony enjoying the view to the lighthouse and out to sea. A lovely, relaxing break - would recommend for couples or friends in group of 2 or 3. |
