Its also discovering a rich cultural heritage, fabulous beaches & coastal sites, & charming hinterland villages.Spanning more than 150Km this is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Spain. The climate is legendary & allows outside persuits year round. There is an abundance of historic sites including the Roman remains & moorish castle in Fuengirola often featured in beer ads, & the Alcazabra in Malaga. Further afield are the Alhambra Palace in Grenada & historic Rhonda which are both inland from the region. Also worth a trip are Gibraltar, Marbella & Porto Banus if only for celebrity spotting.
The Fuengirola / Carvajal area
El Higueron is near both the famous white pueblo's of Benalmadena & Mijas where you will get magnificent views down onto the costa & you will find some of the finest restaurants & shops in the area. Carvajal as well as having a good selection of restaurants has excellent beach facilities where you can hire sunbeds & parasols. Fuengirola & Benalmadena Costa have the biggest selection of amenities with Sea Life Centre, Tivoli Park, Fuengirola Zoo & Water Park to name but a few. They both have yacht marinas where you can book various excursions. Fuengirola & all the towns & villages seem to have a festival every week & there are weekly markets to pick up bargains.

Have just returned from a weeks stay with friends and had the most fantastic time. The apartment was clean and modern and had everything required for a most enjoyable holiday. We enjoyed spending time on the lovely terrace, playing cards and drinking Sangria, overlooking the lovely gardens and pool area.
I would recommend a car to enable you make the most of the local area, beaches and villages. The beach in Carjaval was beautiful and there was a courtesy train from just outside the apartment, which took us straight there.

We recently stayed in this appartment .very beautiful ,neat and comfortable .kitchen was fully furnished with plenty of utensils.television was tuned up for UK channels,we manage to catch up with olympics while we were there.kids had lovely time in swimming pool ,which is at the ground floor.it will be nice if you have a car,because this appartment is up the hill,you won't be able to walk to beach,but you can get a shuttle train just outside the hotel.our special thanks to the owner for leaving lots of information and little hints.it was useful.we had a lovely time

This apartment was the best we have stayed in. From booking the property to the Meet and Greet service all went smoothly. On entering the apartment we noticed how clean and modern it was. the kitchen had every thing you could have wanted. The lovely terrace had comfortable furniture ,where you could enjoy your drinks ,overlooking superb gardens and pools. The restaurant on site is wonderful, with fantastic sea and mountain views. The local ameneties are good , two lovely villages very close, also good places to eat, particually at the local beach.
We will be booking again and can highly recomend this apartment.
