Welcome to Ronda 3 ! A really comfortable light roomy apartment on the ninth floor of Ed. Ronda 3. Only a couple of minutes walk from the bright lights of the" Village" but quiet enough to fall asleep to the sounds of the sea. It has a very good sized balcony/terrace over-looking the wonderful beaches and the seven kilometer Paseo, with sweeping vistas over the Mediterranean, Fuengirola Bay, the Marina to the west........and beyond. Below the cooling lawns and flowering shrubs of our large gardens, swimming and paddling pools. There is a small cafe/ tapas bar and Paddle Tennis courts behind. During the day, a receptionist is on duty, there is secure parking, to one side and a night guard.

Furnished with a wrought iron and glass table and chairs for relaxed dining or just having a vino and watching the sun go down, the terrace also holds a matching sofa for extra friends calling by, or to chill out with your "book of the moment". The South-West aspect allows sunshine to flood the balcony until late afternoon. There is also a smaller balcony leading off the main bedroom, handy for breakfast, with yet more views of the Mediterranean and the bay stretching east, as far as the eye can see. Topped behind by our mountains, which, in truth, are not terribly tall, but graced by one of the icons of Spanish culture : an " Osborne Bull " and views to Mijas, one of the famous "white Villages", only eight kilometers away.

There are two bedrooms, both containing two large single beds, which can be together to form a really big double bed or apart. One opening onto the sea-side balcony the other to the mountain vista, both with lots of wardrobe space.

The pretty mosaic tiled bathroom contains a washing machine and lots of colourful towels, but also washing liquid, conditioner, soap and lavatory paper. Beach towels and beach umbrellas are also at hand.

The Kitchen has the usual complement of fridge-freezer, microwave, hob and oven, electric kettle, pots, pans, dishes and glass-ware, iron and ironing board, etc. A small welcome pack, including a bottle of "Cava" will get you started.

Living Room The very comfortable sittingroom contains two large, well cushioned sofas, lots of cushions, drinks cabinet, marble side and coffee tables, wide-screen T.V. with Eurocable (English & Spanish channels) and DVD/CD player. There is, of course, a wifi connection available.

Dining Area On the Sea Terrace...........adore the views !

The Costa del Sol region

A poplular area, full of history, located in the South of Spain ( Andalucia Region ) within the province of Malaga on the Costa del Sol.

Fuengirola's a great town, with five miles of beach, just in town, alone, which has EVERYTHING you could possibly want, need, and maybe more.

The town is all flat, but backed by mountains, which means it's warmer in winter, but not horribly hot, in summer, so its good for walking, jogging, dandering along, at your ease. Restaurants, markets, historical sights, skiing ! Africia , shopping, dancing, clubs, Flamenco, flamingos and oh ! You'd have to be dead, not to like it here. "Good Location"

The apartment was very homely with lots of personal touches and it was in a very good location, both for seeing all the local amenities and for travelling further afield. Gael had left some food that we could use to start off with which was very kind as we arrived late and all the shops were closed. The apartment was comfortable with 2 bathrooms- essential when traveling with teenagers!- and a television with English channels which was useful in the evenings and at this time of year when all the good stuff is on back home. It had beautiful views of the coast from the balcony which was warm enough to sit on, even at this time of the year. The weaher was fantastic too. I couldn't belive we were sitting in T shirts outside and eating outdoors in early November. All in all I would thoroughly recommend the apartment.

"Home from home"

Is that not warming to the heart !

How wonderful to have yet another lovely family come to holiday,
and understand exactly what we try to give......A FAMILY APARTMENT.

I really do love people who know how to enjoy themselves, and have the imagination to understand .....well, everything involved in attempting to do the best for everyone, and having the ability to relax.....
and see the "good" in everything, it's delightfully refreshing.

Whilst we do invite a review from all our holidaymakers, we do understand that people live busy lives......they tell us, by email, they had a great time and will return.....
but it is a great pleasure to "have it in writing".
The more so as this family stayed, back to back, in both apartments, with same day change-overs, both when they arrived, swopped from 93. to 91. and then again, when they were leaving, and made it very easy to manage, and were most helpfull, on all three occasions.

We do our whatever we can .......nice to be appreciated !

I'm glad to hear you all enjoyed yourselves !

I agree there are improvements to be made......at the end of a very busy,
and fully booked Spring and Summer, some things need up-dated or replaced.

All suggestions gratefully received, as I've mentioned before.....
our aim is to make your holiday experience as happy as possible.

















We do try and provide a good background to your trip, making it as easy as possible for our guests to spend the maximum time enjoying themselves.

That's why we, for example, provide beach towels.....
They are heavy and bulky to pack.

Similarly, if we provide the tea and biscuits,etc. you don't have to go shopping as soon as you arrive, (which might be in the middle of the night ) or ration the loo paper, by the sheet, only to find there's no soap !

"Great week away"

Stayed in the apartment for a week in july 2013 with my wife and brother and sister in law. Nothing negative to say about this place and gael (the owner) took care of us from beginning to end. Lovely woman. The apartment itself is spotless and central to bars restaurants and of course the beach. Thanks for a great holiday!

"Disappointing........."

My husband and I booked to stay for a week to take his parents away for a treat. The owner was very helpful during the booking process and kept in constant contact in the run up to the stay which was very helpful. The apartment is in a great location and has excellent seafront views as advertised.

Unfortunately, these positives did not outweigh the negatives. The apartment and its contents have seen better days and whilst I understand the property is marketed as a 'home from home' and other reviews have described it as staying at a friends, the least you can expect is for the property to be clean and tidy.

When we arrived my heart sank as I looked around and unfortunately the feeling only got worse the longer we inhabited the apartment. This is the first time I have left a review after a holiday but feel the need to in the hope it may give the owner some incentive to make some improvements as I feel she could have a superb property rather than what is currently, in my opinion, well below average.

The owner did leave a 'welcome pack' of cava, milk and bread, which is helpful, but we also discovered some rotten tomatos out on display in the kitchen which looked like they had been hanging around for quite some time. As well as this we discovered something that looked like somebodys left over takeaway in the freezer and who knows how long that had been there. Whilst I understand that she leaves things left by other guests as they may be of use to people, some of the food items left were unacceptable. And its not just food, the place looked like a car boot sale crammed with junk left by other holidaymakers, most of it useless and just contributing to the dirty, cluttered feel of the place. I use the word dirty with a heavy heart as it does seem extreme but sadly it was. There was dust, grime and dirt all over and you cannot blame the fact that the property is near the beach, it is on the 9th floor and if you ask me the dust had accumulated over a long period of time. The kitchen had food stains down the cupboard fronts and the crockery, cups especially, were stained. Every cupboard and draw was full with other peoples junk, used batteries, extension leads, fans that didn't work, tampons, other peoples toiletries the list is endless. There was also a musky smell to the apartment which was very unpleasant. The smaller of the two balconies was half taken over by further junk, including a very large pane of glass leant up against a wall.

We stayed for two nights and couldn't stand it any longer so booked into a hotel to try and salvage the time we had left. We left without a word as we didn't want a fuss and further stress to ruin the time we had left, especially as we had my in-laws with us. And quite frankly, if we had have let the owner know, there is not a lot she could have done as in my opinion, it would have taken over a week to get the apartment up to spec. It needs a complete strip down and a team of cleaners to give it a good going over. We went on holiday for a relaxing break and did not want to spend the remainder of our time having to endure uncomfortable conversations with the owner regarding the condition of the apartment.

We did eventually enjoy Fuengirola in a clean hotel where we were able to walk around barefoot without getting dirty feet and able to leave our clothes and toiletries in empty wardrobes and drawers. Whilst you fully expect to 'clean up' after yourselves when renting a self catering apartment, you do not expect to have to clean up after 10 other families before you. On the plus side, when we returned, our deposit was returned quickly. I imagine that the owner will submit a response to this review citing reasons such as 'quick turnarounds' etc, but we arrived at midnight and there can be no excuse for the lack of cleanliness of the apartment. It was clearly a build up of months of dust and dirt.

I actually feel slightly apprehensive submitting this review as I am not an unkind person and do not moan without good reason but I really feel I should share my experience with others and hope that it may go some way towards giving the owner a boost to improve the property, as it could be great! You just can't hinge everything on the location and seaview. The photos look great but sadly do not show the whole truth.

I'm astonished !

No, truly......the last communication I had with this group, was by email, on the 6th. July,(12.39.pm.) in response to my email, of that morning (10.03.am)thanking them for leaving the apartment in good order, and asking for their banking details, to return their damage deposit.
Last words from them :
"many thanks"!

And then this scathing review !

Although, elsewhere on TripAdvisor, I note that even the Ritz. Hotel has been awarded quite a few "terrible" reviews......!!!

I have no idea when they left the apartmemt, their booking was between Wednesday 26th. June and Wednesday 3rd. July 2013.

So they arrived one day after the previous group's two week holiday, who, leaving on the Tuesday 25th. June, left ample time for the usual clean, linen and towel change,and provision of a "welcome pack".

That "officially" left two days, thursday and Friday, 4th. and 5th. July, to effect the normal clean and change the linens and towels, before the next group's arrival, on Saturday, 6th. July 2013.

They arrived just after lunch, declared the apartment "lovely" and "spotless", and posted the next review, "Great week away", in which they said "nothing negitive" and again "spotless".....

Yet : " and quite frankly, if we had let the owner know, there is not a lot she could have done as in my opinion it woould have taken over a week to get the apartment up to spec.
It needs a complete strip down and a team of cleaners to give it a good going over".

How can both be true ?
Neither group ever met nor knew each other's opinions.

And then the previous "10 families" :
"Whilst you fully expect to have to clean up after yourselves when renting a self catering apartment, you do not expect to have to clean up after 10 other families before you".

I'm sure the "10 families before" would be charmed !

I find it impossible to understand how "Cava,milk and bread" can be "helpful", but tea, coffee, brown and white sugar, eggs, biscuits, jam, rice, pasta, flour, etc. can be unacceptible" ?

All the perishibles, butter, milk, eggs, etc, (including the tomatoes, which were placed in a bowl, with lemons and a head of garlic, on top of the Micro-oven, close to the chopping board,) are freshly bought and unopened, not "left-overs", from the previous tenents, as is implied.
If you happen to use margarine, not butter, that's fine....it's just a welcoming gesture......
you don't have to eat it !

Like-wise, in the bathroom, we supply shower gel, soap,washing liquid, conditioner, and lots of loo paper,,,,,but you don't have to use it.

I know, from experiance, how welcome a pack of Tampax can be.....

The intention is to welcome you, so you can come in, sit down, put your feet up and "BE ON HOLIDAY"......especially if you should arrive in the middle of the night!

The balconies :
Like most Spanish apartments, there is no outside space, (garage or shed ) so one balcony is for socalising, the other for utilities : storing "essencials" : folding drying rack, ironing board, sometimes a set of step-ladders, bucket annd mop, brushes and scoop...

Also, being a Family Holiday Apartment,the other "essentials" : lilo, small body boards, paddle tennis bats and balls, buckets and spades, snortle tubes and goggles, .....beloved of kids, large and small.
There for all to use.

Neatly stacked, they take up about 20% of the blind end of the balcony.....luckily, there being great views of Mijas, the mountains, and the Eastern beachside, there is room for a table and chairs.....
Seems a shame not to take advantage of the view....did this confuse ?

Likewise, in the living room, I don't expect people on holiday have much need for drawer space.....but might appreciate an extension lead, plug adapters, spare bulbs, candles, batteries, matches.......

It seems to me that some people are, by nature, more comfortable in a neutral, "empty", space.

Others enjoy the experiance of "living on the Costa" for a while.....
In either case, it goes without saying, the apartment is clean.

Two points....my sister,booked into an apartment in Fuengirola,because this apartment, 93. was already booked, arriving about an hour late,
( Airline delay )found herself left standing in the street, with two small girl children and all her luggage, with no-one to meet her, no contsact number, no note, no keys, no explanation.
Luckily, she had her Family at hand......when the owner eventually replied to her emails, he said it was "her fault, as she was late".....
That is a "terrible" (start to a)holiday.

Two, as I had agreed to wait up, till "after 1.00.am." to meet this group, with the keys, I took my dinner with me.....it had been a long day.
I put the remains in the freezer, and forgot, in the flurry of their late night arrival, to take it with me......the "carry out", dear reader, was mine own !

"Bright and airy apartment in a great location"

Just returned from a glorious week in Los Boliches.
The apartment has two nice sized bedrooms with a good kitchen & lounge and a great enclosed terrace offering fantastic views of the beach toward the marina on Fuengirola.
Gael was really friendly and very responsive in all requests, including returning the deposit monies(!) and generously left a lovely welcome pack including a much appreciated bottle of Cava.
Great location on the sea front with loads of great beach bar/restaurants, shopping very close to hand and only a five/ten minute walk from the rail station.

Glad you enjoyed yourselves........and the Cava !

"Great location and good value for money"

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The location couldn't be better overlooking the sea and in one of the nicest spots along the long promenade. This is not a luxury apartment but it contains all the things listed in the blurb, is very spacious and offers good value accomodation.
Gael is very helpful, she left us a nice starter pack of food and drink and returned our deposit swiftly after our return.

Glad you enjoyed your stay.....come again soon !

We travelled with our three teenage children - therefore we searched the Internet for an apartment and an area which would suit all our needs. Thankfully both the area (Los Boliches) and the apartme… More

And yet more lovely happy people who know how to enjoy themselves.....
Yes, is true.......sitting on the terrace, quaffing wine and watching the World walk by may seem "tame" but it´s one of the great pleasures in life...

See you all again soon, by which time I do hope all the renovations are done
