The Costa del Sol region


On the Costa del Golf, there are plenty of courses all within a 15 minute drive of the villa. Golf times can be arranged, along with car hire if required. 3 minutes from The new hippodromo racecourse and concert venue. Nearby La Cala, once a Spanish fishing village, has a wide sandy beach and several intimate bars and restaurants.
Fuengirola is only 5 minutes drive away with its long beach front and a large seasonal Aqua Park with giant water slides and grassed picnic areas. A few minutes further on is the pretty ancient mountain village of Mijas Pueblo with its panoramic views, white washed houses and narrow streets.
Marbella is about 20 minutes drive. Visit the ‘Orange Square’ in the interesting ‘old town’, which leads to narrow shops and boutiques. Also Puerto Banus where the 'rich and famous' stroll along the marina.
Calahonda is centrally located for trips to Ronda, Gibraltar, Granada and Nerja, or even a day trip skiing in Sierra Nevada, just two hours away.
The Fuengirola / Cerros del Aguila area
Cerros del Aguila (Eagles Nest) is a small purpose built village less than 5 minutes drive from the town of Fuengirola, where you will find bars, restaurants and entertainments to suite all tastes.
A 5 minute walk from the Villa takes you to the centre of the village, where there is a small supermarket and bar, a tennis court, communal pool and restaurants.
The large, new Miramar shopping mall and cinema complex is just down the road, here you can buy almost everything, there is an enormous supermarket, and you can eat in one of the many restaurants, or even see the latest films in English!

DIRECTIONS FROM AIRPORT TO CERROS DEL AGUILA
As you come out of the Airport take the signs to ' E15 - N340 Malaga/Cadiz'
Over roundabout and stay in right hand lane to take N340 Torremolinos/Cadiz.
Approximately 2.2km stay in right hand lane and take road signed 'E15 - N340 to Benalmadena & Algeciras.(you pass exit for Coin Churrina & Parador de Golf)
Travel approximately 20km and just after footbridge which crosses road take exit marked Fuengirola - Coin
(The following are exit roads you will pass before getting to this exit:- 1. Torremolinos, Palacio de Congresos ((& past motorway service station)). 2. Benalmedena Arroya de Miel, ((at this point the signpost changes to Algeciras Fuengirola)) 3. Benalmedena - Mijas.)
Just after the neon direction sign, take right hand lane A7 (N340) Costa (exit 214) to Fuengirola. Algerciras. (NOT toll Road marked Marbella/ Algerciras)
Pass all the exits for Fuengirola, at the end of Fuengirola you will see the Castle on the left take this exit, it will take you behind the new Miramar Parque shopping centre. Straight over the first roundabout, carry on up the hill approx 3 km to the next roundabout, take the right hand fork. About 2 km from this road, will bring you into the village of Cerros del Aguila.

This is really a lovely place to stay - we know the area well and this was our second visit. The villa is beautifully decorated and has everything you need. It is spacious and cool - teenagers can find their own space - and has a real charm to it. The views are fantastic and you can walk in the hills but be in town in minutes. Peter is also a fabulous host anything you need or if there is a problem he is there to help. Highly recommended! |
