About the home

The Idre is an impressive and luxurious Scandinavian lodge providing spacious accommodation for 5 +2 people. Located on the fairways of the 400 acre Caldecott Hall Golf Club & Country Estate on the south eastern reaches of the beautiful Norfolk Broads National Park.

Built to a high standard, the property is triple glazed, has gas central heating throughout and benefits from it's own two person sauna. The three bedrooms are all on the ground floor with the spacious lounge, dining and kitchen, making this accessible for wheelchair users. The two mezzanine areas are accessed by a spiral staircase, linked by a glass walkway and provide a great relaxing space to read, study or play. A comfortable futon sofa bed provides additional sleeping accommodation for two people.

The weather in Norfolk is drier and sunnier on average than any other part of the UK. With its easterly position, the Norfolk coast enjoys the longest days and some of the best weather for happy holidays in the UK.

Sitting Room: Vaulted ceiling, wooden laminate flooring and leather corner sofa group plus single armchair. Double doors lead onto a large decked area overlooking the fairways. Gas fired (log effect) fire, large screen TV with Freeview and DVD player.

Kitchen: Fully fitted and well equipped, gas cooker, american style fridge / freezer, dishwasher and microwave.
Utility room with washing machine

Master Bedroom: Spacious with door leading onto the decked area. King size bed, bed side cabinets and built in wardrobe. Door to large En suite bathroom.

En suite bathroom: Separate shower, WC and basin.
Bedroom 2: bunk beds
Bedroom 3: single bed
Bathroom 2: Corner bath, WC, basin and sauna.

Located in the grounds of Caldecott Hall set within easy reach of the Norfolk Broads and only a few miles away from the Norfolk/Suffolk heritage coast. Caldecott Hall is part of a 400 acre estate of Norfolk countryside, the manor house is an AA 3 star hotel with lounge, bar and fine restaurant

Caldecott Hall's centre of well-being 'The Barn Works' is a fitness spa providing state of the art cardio vascular and resistance equipment compliments a striking pool*, spa and steam room, delightfully situated in a magnificent thatched barn. Personal assessment, programmes, tuition and Sports, Swedish and Indian Head massage will be available from the permanent qualified staff.

* The Barn Works is an adult only club, for people aged 16 and over. However children accompanied by adults are allowed in the pool at restricted times, Friday 4pm - 7pm, Saturday 8am - 12 noon and Sunday 9am - 12 noon.

There are also two 18 hole golf courses the Championship course and the Academy course. Practice driving range with 20 berths. Fishing lakes with rainbow and brown trout (access to the lakes is at the managements discretion). The Redwings Horse Sanctuary, the largest horse charity in the UK is also located on site and a popular attraction for both children and adults.

On site facilities are payable direct to Caldecott Hall, guests of the IDRE receive a 25% discount (excluding Redwings).

The nearby Fritton lake offers canoeing, fishing and nature walks. Fritton It is an ideal location for exploring East Anglia, visit the city of Norwich with its shopping facilities and unique blend of historical and modern buildings. The coastal resorts of Gt Yarmouth and Lowestoft are a short drive away, a must visit are the beautiful coastal villages of Southwold, Walberswick and Dunwich. Inland there are attractive market towns and villages all of which have their own history and invite you to explore
