Tidal lodge
About the home
Tidal Lodge is located in what is known as the "Essex Sunshine Coast". The beach is within a stones throw from the house, which is ideal when you are having a day on the beach, as you will not have to carry your beach things any distance, so makes returning extremely easy.
The beaches at Walton are well known world wide for the fossils and sharks teeth which are found just laying on the beach, so great to keep kids and adults amused for ages once you have finished playing in the sea.
We are extremely close to Walton-on-the-Naze Town Centre, which is just a short walk away, which consists of the Co-op, Tescos, Chip Shops, Pie N Mash, and a family pub. There is also a bakers and a couple of hardware shops, so anything you forget to bring will be available. It is a 5 minute walk to the local indoor swimming pool which on certain days has a large blow up assault course, which the kids really enjoy, it also has a small flume, it is an ideal family pool. There is a convenience store just at the end of our road, which has late night closing, so is ideal for any thing you have forgotten.
There is a lovely marina just 5/10 minutes away by car, which has a nice bar/restaurant/carvery. You can either choose to sit inside or out, both ways you are overlooking the boats.
Buses can be caught at the end of our road to either Frinton, Clacton or Colchester, but if you are feeling energetic it is a fantastic walk along the sea front to Frinton, for its many curious shops.
The Pier at Walton is great for the kids with fairground attractions, amusements, ten-pin bowling with bar etc. If the kids need to be amused while you are getting dinner ready, there is a playground just 2 minutes walk round the corner.

We came to the house for a long week (thanks Micheal) over the half term holiday. There was myself and hubby, 4 children and elderly Nan (88). The house was perfect, plenty of ease to get about for my Nan who struggles with mobility, she had use of the downstairs bathroom and downstairs bedroom and plenty of room for her to use her walking frame. Loads of space, seating and dining. We had plenty of help from the Lovely Sandra (next door but 1) an adorable lady who was lovely to the whole family - My daughters new best friend i think. Despite weather typical for Oct/nov we had a lovely stay, visited the beach and other local areas. A few problems with the heating but resolved as quickly as possible and Micheal or Sandra kept in touch all the way through. I would definately recommend the house - we would love to go back. THANK YOU . xxxx Response: MANY THANKS FOR YOUR GREAT REVIEW..SEE YOU SOON. MICHAEL |

The house is so bright and spacious, plenty of room for all our large family, without getting in each others way. Another shower in the upstairs bathroom would be useful, and understand from the owner Michael, that this is planed for next year, we also thought a washing machine would be necessary for a longer stay. On saying this the dinning area seated us perfectly, and the kitchen had all we required. It was helpful having Sandra two houses away to give good advise. The garden was great for the children, although the mosquitoes, stopped us sitting out side in the evening. A truly wonderful beach holiday, with perfect weather was had by us all. Thank you Michael for making it possible. |

We were an extended family group, youngest 16 and oldest in their 80's. Ideal for all ages. Near the lovely beach and the Naze nature reserve. For the older ones a short walk to sea front and a seat overlooking the sea and a healthy walk to the pier for the youngest. Some of our party swam off the beach and were the only ones there! Wheelchair hire in Frinton and the house was ideal for those with mobility problems with bedrooms and shower room downstairs. Also plenty of living space without falling over each other. House light, bright airy and clean. Well furnished, comfortable beds and a sea view from the upstairs master bedroom. On our way home our oldest members were already talking about coming again they enjoyed it so much. |
