About the home

This beautiful brand new 5 bedroomed/4 bathroom villa sleeps up to 12 people. It is situated on the outskirts of the white village of Frigiliana with magnificent views through the national park down to the coastline of Nerja.

Finished to a very high standard there is air-conditioning throughout, a games room with sofabedand a private swimming pool and garden. Built on three levels with very open plan lounge/diner/kitchen with fire place, sat tv and patio doors to large terrace with private pool. Kitchen is fitted with all mod cons such as dishwasher, oven/hob, microwave, washing machine and fridge/freezer. All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and three have en suites with a full bathroom as well. Private car parking.

The Costa del Sol region

The Costa del Sol is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, it's miles of beautiful sandy beaches and fantastic weather which have kept tourists flocking back year after year to resorts like Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Marbella. The Costa del Sol caters for young and old alike, offering a host of entertainment choices for the native and visitor alike.

The coast boasts one of the highest concentrations of world class golf courses, to the extent that it is often dubbed "The Costa del Golf". For families there are theme parks, including water parks, go-karting, safari parks and many beautiful public gardens. For younger visitors the main areas of attraction are Benalmadena's Puerto Marina & '24 hour square' and Marbella's Puerto Banus. Both are very trendy and chic, but be warned the bars and clubs don't get busy until near midnight and stay open till dawn.

The area's history dates back to the Phoenicians and has since been inhabited by Greeks, Romans and Moors, all of whom have left their mark on the areas architecture and culture. Perhaps less well known is the areas culture, often in the shadow of its neighbour Seville, The Costa and the Malaga province are home to some of the finest Flamenco shows, bull fighting & tapas restaurants

The Frigiliana area

The village of Frigiliana, and particularly the historic part is a village of unparalleled beauty. The architecture recalls the pure Moorish style while respecting changes through the centuries. Thankfully, the people who live here enjoy showing their love for the town by their actions. They can be seen constantly white-washing their houses and cleaning their corners of the cobblestone streets and passageways, keeping them spotless in the same way as has been the custom for centuries.

In the spring, the courtyards and patios and terraces are overflowing with flowers, which turn a stroll through town into a sweet-smelling dream. Everything they have done has earned the town well-deserved awards and honours making Frigiliana the most honoured town in Axarquia.The first time you visit you will be overwhelmed and surprised at how beautiful and sparkling clean a village can be. To follow one of the many narrow passageways is to run the risk of succumbing to the enchantment of the streets.

Malaga Airport is 6km from Malaga City and 50km (45 minutes mainly down the motorway journey by car) and a very straightforward journey to Nerja. On leaving the airport keep in the right hand lane and take the E340 towards Motril, which will bring you to the Nerja exit, from there we will supply easy directions to find the accommodation. .

There are frequent flights to Malaga, by scheduled and many budget airlines from all over the UK and Nerja is only 2 hours from the Sierra Nevada Europe's most southerly ski resort and a couple of hours drive to Granada.

A car will certainly enhance your visit as there is so much to see and do, but it is not actually essential to enjoy Nerja and there are plenty of local companies who can organise trips to Grenada or Gibraltar which is about 2 and a half hours drive away.

If you don’t want to hire a car (we use www.marbesol.com) we can arrange a transfer from the airport (taxi charge is 70 euros for up to 4 people each way and minibus charge is 110 euros for 5 – 12 people each way. NB Unsocial hours –taxi 75 Euros, Minibus 150 Euros).
