About the home

Set in the favoured old quarter a short stroll from the historic church square of Frigiliana, with its labyrinth of cobblestone streets tranquil squares and courtyards.
The terrace has views towards the beautiful old village church and the National Park.
A modern apartment with a warm glowing Mediterranean theme. Finished to the highest standard.
There is an outdoor pool to relax in after a hard days site seeing at the nearby town of Nerja.

The okra painted lounge is decorated with Andalucian artefacts: it has two new comfortable sofas, coffee tables and lamps, UK free to air TV, with double wooden doors opening onto the terrace.

There is a rustic style wooden table and four chairs. The kitchen is well equipped with everything necessary for the holiday cook and with all new appliances.

There are 2 double bedrooms, again rustic style with iron bedsteads and large fitted wardrobes.

The attractive bathroom has full bath, WC, bidet and shower.

There is an outdoor pool and sunbathing terrace with an array of tropical plants etc, great for an afternoon siesta.

The Costa del Sol region

Frigiliana is a white village of outstanding natural beauty, nestling in the foothills of the Alpujarra mountains, 6 kms inland from the quaint seaside town of Nerja and its sandy beaches. The area is renowned for its mild climate , boasting an average of 320 days sunshine per year. It is a walkers paradise, being on the edge of a national park.

The marina of Caleta and Marina Del Este are a short drive away, where scuba diving, boat hire and boat charter are available. There are the famous Nerja caves to explore. The village is an ideal base to make trips to Seville, Granada and Cordoba. Malaga is a wonderful city with its Roman ruins, shops and large stores, a cathedral, museums and the recently opened Picasso gallery housing an extensive collection of the artists work.

The Frigiliana area

Frigiliana has won several awards as the prettiest village in Andalucia. The old village of Arab origins is a labyrinth of winding cobbled streets connected by hidden inner courtyards and alleyways, lining these tiny cobbled streets are beautiful houses whose balconies overflow with colourful bougainvillea and geranium flowers. The village square has a church dating back to 1640.

There is a range of good local shops, many small local bars, cafes and restaurants offering good local food . The village is also famous for its muscatel wine, olive oil and honey. The village has a large swimming pool and is usually open in July and August. The friendly townsfolk of Frigiliana are welcoming and eager to share their fiestas and events with visitors.

“this apartment is located in a beautiful village which really gives you a feeling of real Spain” Do hire a car to experience the wonderful scenery of the Sierra Nevada--visit Ronda (about 50 klms, north of Mabella),Grenada (the Al Hambra here is a must)--Burriana Beach in Nerja is the best around.--lovely local restaurants in Frigiliana (3 mins from Casita Carmen in the church square)--John and Rosie were very helpful and accomodating.

“Rural Retreats closed National Park : perfect winter Getaway !” Modern apartment closed to basic commodities in the village. Just dive in the pool and chill on the balcony. ZEN holidays !

We have very much enjoyed our stay here, a great success as last year.
We are now back in a grey and very wet English summer - and I'm back at work!! But I did want to say again how very much we enjoyed staying in your apartment. It's lovely to be just on the edge of the village with everything so close at hand - and I've come to the conclusion that one of the other things is that the furnishings and colours and pictures in the apartment are both rich and soothing. So although we are now far away I still carry a picture of it in my minds eye!!!
So, thank you again. We had a lovely holiday ... and may well be tempted back next year ... in fact I wish I could come sooner!!! Best Wishes Sarah
