Casa Doble is a bright and airy apartment, very well appointed with wonderful panoramic views and furnished with all the essentials to ensure you enjoy a relaxing and comfortable holiday.

The large lounge and dining area has comfortable seating for 6 people, TV, DVD, MP3 dock and CD/Tape/Radio. A varied selection of CDs, DVDs and books are available for your enjoyment. Free Wi-Fi is provided. The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped, complete with a granite work surface. There is a south facing terrace with furniture for 'al fresco' dining. The master bedroom is served by a full en suite bathroom with shower and we have two further twin bedded rooms with a second full bathroom with shower.

The apartment is located on the edge of the picturesque whitewashed village of Frigiliana which has a selection of small shops selling groceries, bread, fresh meat & fish, newspapers etc. There are many bars and restaurants in the village, some with beautiful scenic views. An abundance of pretty walks and rambles await you in and around the village and numerous other activites and facilities, including horse riding, golf, gym, beaches, water sports, shopping etc are all available nearby.

From within the communal entrance hall you can access the shared swimmimg pool and sunbathing area. Sunbeds are provided poolside, we have our own matresses for your comfort.

The apartment is less than a 5 minute stroll along beautiful cobbled streets to the village square, restaurants, bars and shops catering for all your needs.

The Costa del Sol region

The Costa del Sol stretches along 150 kilometres of Málaga province and is one of Spain's most popular tourist destinations. The area's mild climate is the main attraction that makes it possible to enjoy the beaches and a wide variety of outdoor activities all year round.

The Eastern Costa del Sol covers the 54 kilometre stretch of coast to the east of Malaga city. Along this stretch of coastline sandy beaches mix with cliffs of up to 200 meters where the Sierra Almijara joins the sea. This part of the Costa del Sol has an urban landscape surrounded by traditional agriculture where donkeys and mules can still be seen on the roads carrying hay! Nerja is the main tourist resort at this end of the coast and boasts one of the area's main tourist attractions - the Nerja Caves, a spectacular find that is open to the public and hosts an annual music and dance festival in July within its famous caverns. At the foot of Nerja town a winding footpath joins several coves and there are some nice beaches to be found in this area. The Sierra Nevada ski resort, Granada, Marbella, Seville, Gibraltar, Ronda, Cordoba and all Costa del Sol resorts are all easily accessible from Frigiliana.

Frigiliana

Frigiliana is a quiet and picturesque Andalucian village lying in the foothills of the Almijara mountain range at a height of 1,000 feet and is the perfect place for a tranquil, relaxing holiday. The village, situated on the edge of a national park, is noted for it's whitewashed houses and narrow cobbled flower laden streets. The Sierra Tejada National Park gives easy access to numerous challenging walks where you can enjoy the outstanding natural beauty of the area with abundant wild flowers and wildlife as well as the opportunity for gentle strolls through shady woodland and dry river beds. The surronding mountains are breathtaking and take on various hues depending on the weather and the time of day. The village has many restaurants and bars which specialise in La Axarquia fare, some offering fine panoramic views over the village and local countryside. Market day in Frigiliana is Thursday and is well worth a visit to purchase fresh produce and traditional Spanish ceramics etc.

The nearby resort town of Nerja is just a 10 minute drive away and has many fine beaches offering a variety of watersports as well as a bustling nightlife. Nerja, bulit on top of a dramatic cliff, is famous for the 'Balcon De Europa' (a viewing balcony looking out over the Mediterranean sea) and retains many of the charms of a typical Spanish town.

Local activities available include;

Golf (within 20 minutes drive), Diving, Cycling, Water Ski-ing, Paragliding, Fishing, Montain and Hill Walking, Bird Watching, Horse Riding, Monutain Biking, Waterparks, Tennis and a Gymnasium.

Here are just a few suggestions of places for you to visit during your stay;

The nearby Nerja Caves are some of the best in Europe and should not be missed if you get the opportunity. There are undergound caverns with stalagmites, stalagtites & columns. The caverns claim the world's widest column and the Grand centre column reaches a height of 32 metres. Each July a festival of flamenco music and dance is held inside the caves. Facilities include a restaurant and museum.

Visit the magnificent Alhambra Palace in Granada, , the jewel of Moorish Spain and with over two million visitors a year is one of Spain's most visited tourist attractions. Due to it's popularity and restricted visitor numbers it is recommended that you pre-book your tickets, especially during the summer months. www.alhambratickets.com

Take a picturesque 30 minute drive north west of Frigiliana to the hot springs of Alhama De Granada. This is a delightful area and perfect for a back to nature day out and to enjoy a picnic.

There are 2 waterparks within 15 to 20 minutes drive away, one to the east of Nerja at Almunecar and the other to the west at Torre Del Mar.

As in the rest of Spain, local fiestas and festivals in the Frigiliana and Nerja area are a regular occurrence and are worth a look. It should be noted that usually all shops will be closed on fiesta days. Check the web for dates; www.absoluteaxarquia.com

"A home from Home"

In August 2012 we made our third visit to the stunning village of Frigliana and to this beautiful apartment situated perfectly at the heart of the village. The rooms are delightful, decorated to a high standard and spotless. In fact, a real home from home with all the amenities you need to hand, there was even useful local information left by the extremely helpful owners. On returning from days out exploring nearby Nerja or the beautiful area of Frigliana and it's pretty shops and restaurants, we liked nothing better than to sit on the apartment balcony and enjoy a relaxing drink whilst taking in the views. We also loved the quiet and picturesque pool. Needless to say we have booked again for 2013!

"Perfect"

This holiday was one of the best for location, relaxation and was generally wonderful. My close friends and I were looking for a space to enjoy some Spanish culture in a local community, with some lovely scenery but in the comfort of a 'home like' accommodation. The apartment was incredibly clean and the kitchen well stocked with all the utensils to cook with and then eat on the balcony . I was especially pleased with the comfort of the pillows and bed and not forgetting the wonderful view over looking the mountains in the morning:-)

The village is very unique with a very traditional atmosphere and everybody was so welcoming and even put up with my terrible Spanish:-) The only thing that I would say is to hire a car, I think there is a bus service but there is so much to see that you will want to be able to nip about.

Would highly recommend the holiday for anyone looking to experience a traditional Spanish village.

So pleased you enjoyed the lovely village of Frigiliana and that our apartment added to what sounds like a wonderful holiday. Hope to welcome you back some time.

"Excellent spacious modern clean apartment in a beautiful location"

Stayed at this apartment for a week in June this year. This was my second visit and I have already booked for next June. The apartment is very well maintained and was spotlessly clean. It is very well equipped, there are many extra amenities you wouldn't normally expect, beds were very comfortable. The pool is very nice and secure within the apartment confines. Frigiliana is a picturesque village set in the mountains and is just a short 5 min car journey to Nerja and the beaches. A car is essential, but parking outside the apartment is not a problem and is free. The steps to the apartment could be a problem for older, less able guests, but no problem for me. There are plenty of nice restaurants in Frigiliana and lots of great things to do around the area. Booking and obtaining the keys was easy. I would highly recommend this apartment, so glad we found it, I can't wait to go back again next year!

"Gorgeous apartment in beautiful, traditional Spanish village"

We visited this property in May 2012. It was our first visit to this region of Spain and we were really impressed with both the apartment and the pretty village of Frigilina. The property was recommended through a friend who had previously visited the apartment and the booking process was made simple by the owner who was really friendly with regards to the booking itself and providing information on the local area. The apartment itself was clean, rooms spacious and the kitchen was fully kitted out with everything we needed. The balcony was a great place to sit out for meals and to sunbath with lovely views over the valley. The pool was great and the area surrounding it clean and nicely landscaped by plants and bushes. Frigilina is a gorgeous village with traditional whitewashed buildings and beautifully designed cobbled lanes. It had some great restaurants in the town and just outside and lots of friendly locals. There are some lovely little shops in the village selling uniques gifts and the weekly market is great to visit. Nerja, just five minutes down the hill is a great place to visit for breakfast or to lay out on the beach for the day. If there is any shopping needs unmet in Frigilina you'll be able to find everything you need in Nerja with lots of shops and several supermarkets available. Lots of information was available within the apartment about places to visit which was really useful. We found lots to do including visiting the caves near Nerja which are must see and also had a day trip to the Allahambra which was amazing. I would definitely recommend the apartment to anybody looking to visit this area of Spain. We loved Frigilina and would definitely stay in this apartment again in the future.
