About the home

The location of Villa Arabe means it is not essential to drive everywhere, perfect for a lazy lunch in town and a gentle stroll home! The villa is all on one level and maintained by the owners to a very high standard. The garden and surrounding land is well tended and produces a variety of fruit and vegetables. The owner is very generous with his produce if you are lucky enough to be around when in season.
Nerja with its beautiful beaches is a short driveaway.

Villa Arabe is an attractive two bedroom villa situated just above, and within walking distance of, the pretty village of Frigiliana, near Nerja. The villa takes its name from the Arabic style arches that are featured both outside on the terrace and inside the villa. But, apart from the curious arches, the first thing visitors to the villa will notice are the stunning views, down to the village below and across the valley to the mountains and sea in the distance. Entrance to the villa is through the covered terrace to the front door and then directly into the spacious lounge and dining room, with open-plan kitchen. The lounge is comfortably furnished and the dining area separated from the kitchen by a breakfast bar featuring Arabic arches. The kitchen is well equipped (but there is no oven) and the views are stunning from the window over the hob! An arch goes from the lounge to a small passage off which are the two bedrooms and the family bathroom.

Further details outdoors:
The covered terrace runs the width of the villa. This is designed to take full advantage of the wonderful views, and is furnished with table and chairs for those al fresco meals. Nearby is the purpose built barbecue and pizza oven. The swimming pool has a paved surround with plenty of room for sun loungers and a parasol. The property is fully walled and gated, with space for parking a couple of cars. There is a track that goes down from the villa to the village of Frigiliana, about a 10 minute walk away (a good torch is essential for coming back in the dark).

All bedrooms have air conditioning included in rental 8pm to 10am 30/06/12-31/08/12 (full price bookings only. Available as an extra at all other times - please enquire).
Heating available in the bedrooms in winter (extra charge, payable locally to the owner)

30% on making reservation
70% eight weeks before date of arrival
If booking within eight weeks of date of arrival the full amount must be paid on reservation

The Costa del Sol region

Nerja, on the eastern Costa del Sol, is set on a rugged headland in an area of still unspoiled sandy beaches and sheltered coves, protected by a background of majestic mountains - the Sierra de Almijara. Fresh spring water from these mountains, together with a wonderful climate - an average of 320 days sunshine a year, has made the surrounding countryside a horticultural paradise, with crops ranging from sugar cane to strawberries, tomatoes to avocados, plus a rich harvest of citrus fruit.

The Frigiliana area

Nerja is a great base for exploring the wonders of Andalucia. The Alhambra Palace at Granada is within a 2 hour drive, and Malaga with the Picasso Museum is just 45 minutes away. Sevilla, Ronda and Cordoba are all within driving distance, and a day out in Gibraltar is another possibility.
Closer to Nerja are wonderful areas for walking and bird watching.
Nerja is a great winter destination with plenty of sun. It is a 2 hour drive from the SKI RESORT of Sierra Nevada near to Granada

Take advantage of cheap flights and fly mid-week. At Villa Arabe you can come and go on any day.
Most budget airlines fly to Malaga (58Kms) and Granada (about 2 hour drive). And you can pick up your hire car at either airport.
