"A house with soul and atmosphere"
Casa Azul in the old part of Frigiliana is a fantastic house, filled with charm and atmosphere.
I rented it for four weeks this winter – from mid November to mid December. The last two weeks my 27 years old daughter joined me, and we spent some absolutely wonderful time in this very old, rustic, but tastefully restored house in the middle of on of the picturesque white pueblos in Andalucía.
Even though it was in the middle of the winter you could use the roof terrace most of the days. And from there you have a breathtaking view. But the evenings and nights where cold, and we where happy, that we could light the stove oven. It was a bit difficult to get god dry wood to a reasonable price.
The house is extremely well equipped with everything you could think of, both in the kitchen, the bedrooms and the living rooms. And frankly, I loved the top tuned Wi-Fi.
You need to be able to use your legs; there are many steps from the kitchen to the roof terrace ;-).
If the in-house exercise isn't enough, there are lots of possibilities for hiking in the mountains close to Frigiliana. And by the way: There are walking sticks in the house.
A wonderful place – I will definitely get back

"Great value, tasteful restoration with modern conveniences, comfortable, and memorable."
Staying at Casa Puerta Azul helped me to have one of the best vacations I've ever had. I was alone during my first week, with no car. No problem. Bus service to Nerja was only a few blocks away. My 33-yr-old daughter joined me for the next two weeks, so we rented a car mainly to be able to go to Granada and to Cabo de Gata national park. Our casa could not have been more centrally located. There are several small grocery stores as well as a few wine and liquor shops right in Frigiliana. Casa Puerta Azul itself was wonderful, great kitchen, comfortable beds, small but very good bath/shower. We loved the roof deck/garden, great for watching the sunrise and sunset. A great value.
