The Penthouse has two terraces the largest is the size of the floor area of the apartment and is where you will find the private pool, La Fuente is a new development which boasts communal gardens, a large pool,a children’s pool and tennis court. Parking is easy and there is a lift from the street directly to the front door. The contempory furnishings are to a high standard; The sitting room has a leather sofa and large flat screen TV. Master bedroom has a queen-size iron bed and the second bedroom has both queen sized bed and bunk-beds
The kitchen is made from birch wood and black granite. There are windows all around with views to the sea. The apartment stays cool in the summer and there is always the roof pool to jump into. The roof eating area is shaded by woven canes and benefits from cooling breezes. Breakfast on the veranda, lunch on the roof and dinner around the glass top table by the TV, if you’re that dedicated to cooking! Wine and meal in one of the man.y local restaurants may be more appealing.

The village of :Frigiliana has thousand of years of history. and within its narrow cobbled streets now home to many artists you will find not only a plethora of restaurants ,little bistros and cafes but many genuinely friendly people. Unlike in a town the old manF sitting by his front door will expect you to say hello as you pass by. Here flowers spill out on to the roads.In the ancient village centre it seems as if everywhere is a garden and in the evening families lovingly tend to these blossoms and sweep the pavement around their pots and urns.
Within a stones throw of the village is a national park, come early in the summer or autumn for long hikes amid the wild flowers and a myriad of butterflies. for those who are less strenuous a stroll along the Rio Higueron close to the village will inspire you. There are in fact many walking trails and mountain bike trails also. This is a very special almost secret part of Spain.

The Costa del Sol region
Located in the old Moorish hilltop whitewashed village of Frigiliana. Two minutes walk to the picturesque central square, small shops and restaurants within narrow cobbled streets lined with flowers. Views over sub-tropical mango and avocado groves to the sea while, behind, the Sierra de Almijara soars above the village. Within 15 minutes walk you can be in the Sierra Tejada National Park, alongside the shaded valley of the Rio Higueron or following walking trails into the mountains. Granada, world famous Alhambra and the ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada are 90 minutes away.
The area has the best climate in Europe with sun-bathing 9 months of the year. Six kilometres by car or bus from Frigiliana is Nerja with cafes, restaurants, night life, local shops, supermarkets, street performances, the famous Nerja caves, the Balcon de Europa remaining from the 9th Century Moorish fortress and it’s miles of sandy beaches and coves, including the Blue Flag beaches of Burrianna
The Frigiliana / Old town/Moorish quarter area
Frigiliana undoubtedly one of the most beautiful pueblos blancos in Andalucia has narrow cobbled streets which overflowing with flowers. There are many artists and craftmen living in the village and also It hosts several festivals each year culminating in August with four days when Frigiliana holds the Festival of the Three Cultures (Festival de las Tres Culturas), celebrating the region's historic confluence and co-existence of Christian, Muslim and Jewish traditions.
Within the old sector, the narrow, winding streets are full of interesting shops and bars, and twelve mosaics by the artist Pilar Garcia Millan depict the village's history. At the high point of the town there are remains of a Moorish castle. The parish church of San Antonio is of 16th century construction and houses three excellent 17th century paintings. Treasure containing precious metals is exhibited in the sacristy.

The apartment is situated on the edge of the old village of Frigiliana and as such is an ideal location for wandering the tiny streets of this marvellous place.Even at the end of October the weather was kind and we were able to swim in the pool every day.The pool is small, as you would expect, but the view from the terrace was fantastic. The apartment itself was nicely maintained and the kitchen was well equipped. We were very grateful for the efficient welcome on arrival, the use of a lift (this apartment is on the top floor!) and the ease of parking on the road outside. The apartment was quiet and ideal for our family holiday, enjoyed by our teenage son and our 11 year old daughter as well as by ourselves. Response: thanks for the lovely review. The private pool is situated on the roof in a private position with panoramic views. It is great to sit around and sunbathe next to in complete privacy. It is also big enough to swim around in and deep enough to jump into. We rarely leave this idyllic setting when on holiday at the penthouse. For swimming lengths the large pool in the garden is just two minutes away and usually empty. |

Frigilianna combines the best of Spaish sunshine and culture with the tranquility of a quiet mountainside town. The accommodation was wonderful, very clean and tidy, easy to find and very well kitted out. The owners representative met me outide the property and was easy to contact and very polite. The roof top garden and pool may not suit younger families, but for me it was idylic to sit out by the pool either late at night under the stars or early in the morning just as the sun rose over the hillside, the larger communal pool nearly meant that more energetic swimming was also easy and close by. A number of sumptuous eating restaurants and taverna's in Frigilianna meant that I was able to dine out each lunch time and night in a differant establishment experiencing a plethora of differant types and culures of food.
