About the home

Villa Herrero is a beautiful private property situated in a priviledged area (easy access by road), between the towns of Nerja and Frigiliana. Very peacefull villa, fantastic panoramic sea and mountain views from the garden of the villa, enjoy a lovely afternoon with barbecue and swimming in a private pool.

The interior of the andalusian styled villa consists of salon/dining area with seating for six, three double bedrooms, one full bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, american style bar, tiled floors throughout. The villa is fully furnished and equipped with satellite TV,MP3 and CD Player, two double sofas, chimney, access to large all round terrace with barbecue area. Exterior consists of large garden with plants. Steps give access to lawns and pool area.

The whitewashed village of Frigiliana is 3kms walking distance with its small shops, typical bars and restaurants and scenic views. Nerja is the same distance away with an ample selection of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, leisure sports and activities including golf, watersports. The beaches are renowned for their beauty and safe bathing. Enjoy a walk along the famous Balcon de Europa and sample the excellent beach bars and restaurants with typical Spanish cuisine. A visit to the nearby Nerja Caves is a must.

The villa renta includes water and electricity, bed linen and towels. Arrival time as from 2 pm. Departure time no later than 10.00 am. to allow for cleaning and preparation for arrivals. In the case of late or night time arrivals please contact the owner in order to make appropriate arrangements.

Discount rates for long lets are available on demand.

A holding deposit of 20% of the rental is required within 7 days of booking, with the full balance payable no later than 6 weeks before arrival.

The Costa del Sol region

The Costa del Sol, translated as the "Sun Coast" is the area along the Mediterranean from Gibraltar in the west along the coast to Nerja in the East and is one of the top tourist destinations in the continent of Europe. The Costa del Sol is so called for a reason as it receives some of the highest and longest sunshine in all of Europe, with an average temperature of 22ºC over roughly 325 days of sunshine per year. Undeniably, it has some of the best holiday facilities on the continent. There is something for everyone in it´s choice of resorts; lively nightlife with the tranquillity of sandy beaches, a holidaymakers climate with excellent recreational and sporting opportunities.

Nerja is one of the most attractive resorts on the Costa del Sol and has a relaxing, family atmosphere. The famous prehistoric Caves of Nerja (near Maro) are the chief attraction of the town, home to the worlds longest known stalactite (63m) and are definitely worth visiting. The Casco antiguo (old town) is centred on the rocky promontory of the Balcony of Europe and for dazzling views you should visit the palm-lined promenade. All of the cobbled streets and alleyways radiate outwards from here, full of cafés and tiny boutiques selling local craftwork and produce. By night they are twinkling with lights and alive with tapas bars and restaurants.

The Frigiliana / Pago La Galera area

Hilltop village of Frigiliana, with its donkey-wide cobbled alleyways and pristine white houses, splashed with geraniums and bougainvillea. Frigiliana has deservedly been awarded the title of "Prettiest Village in Andalucia" and is famous for its distinctive pottery and sweet wine.

The town of Frigiliana lies at a height of 435 metres in the foot hills of the Sierra de Enmedio, a southern extension of the Sierra Almijara. The town has a population of 2,300 and consists of two adjoining centres of populations. One of Moorish origins and the other of more recent construction, imitating the architectural style of the first. In the Moorish times it was one of the more prosperous villages in the kingdom of Granada.

Frigiliana offers beautiful views over the surrounding countryside, down to the sea and to the pueblo of Nerja. Frigiliana itself is made up of winding cobbled streets and whitewashed buildings and is famed for its ceramics and sweet wines. The history of Frigiliana can be found on the 12 ceramic wall plates. Although written in Spanish a small booklet of translation can obtained for the tourist information centre located in Plaza Ingenio. Open 10.00 - 14.00 everyday. There are a number of active craftsmen making leather, glass and textile products, all of which can be found on sale in the numerous boutiques within the village. Frigiliana has also won several national and local prizes for its efforts to preserve and enhance its typically Andalucian beauty.

Frigiliana offers a wide variety of restaurants offering typical Spanish food to BBQ´s and pizzas. There is plenty of free parking and there is a number of small corner ships selling such essentials as fruit and veg.

-Fly to Malaga airport - Villa Herrero is situaded between Nerja and Frigiliana and just 70 km from Malaga airport . Drive east on the N340 E15 motorway to exit 292. Follow the signs to Frigiliana / Nerja (one hour drive aprox).
-Cheap flights also availble flying to Granada airport.
-Low budget flights available from Easyjet, Monarch airlines, Ryanair.
-Car hire is advised.
-Taxis are available from airport to Frigiliana (60 euros aprox.).
