About this location

The Isle of Wight region

Less than 5 miles from Hampshire, the Isle of Wight shimmers in the English Channel. Notorious for its unspoilt beauty, leading sailing port of Cowes and many outdoor activities, the Isle of Wight holiday is perfect for getting away from it all - at any time of year. Whether you enjoy sunny days on the beach, portside pursuits or family days out, Blue Chip Holidays' Isle of Wight holiday cottages will position you right where you need to be. The Isle of Wight was home to Queen Victoria and Lord Tennyson. Cowes holds the oldest regatta in the world, Cowes Week. Jimi Hendrix gave his last major performance on the Isle of Wight.

Freshwater

Found on the western tip of the Isle of Wight, Freshwater has a Victorian feel to it and more quaint little shops than you can shake a stick of rock at. Our Freshwater holiday cottages are ever popular with those keen to explore the island, as this bustling corner of it makes a convenient base to reach some of its highlights.

You'll find a small beach, all kinds of traditional shops and places to dine out and some gorgeous walks that once inspired Lord Tennyson himself. The West Wight is home to the infamous Needles, and Freshwater makes a handy starting point for a walk to view them. Freshwater is divided into the main town and Freshwater Bay. Freshwater Bay Golf Course has 18 holes. The cliff top Tennyson trail takes walkers to the Needles viewing point.
