A comfortable holiday home in a fabulous location at excellent rates.
Periwinkle is situated in Freshwater Bay Holiday Village. The exterior has been recently been given a makeover and it is now finished in attractive sea green cladding which suits its seaside location and makes it one of the nicer properties in the holiday village.
Inside, Periwinkle has an open plan lounge kitchen dining room with a pleasant tiled floor and comfortable cream leather sofas, one of which is a sofa-bed - useful should you have an extra guest to stay. There is a 32 inch TV, WiFi and a phone line for incoming calls.
Upstairs are two bedrooms - double and twin - and a fully tiled shower room. From the first floor double bedroom window is a view of the valley opposite and a side sea view.
This accommodation is carefully looked after by Jenny and her sister Vanessa. They only live a short distance away so are on hand to offer a friendly local service.
Periwinkle appeals to many visitors such as couples looking for a cheap off-peak break in a beautiful area, surfers and climbers who want to play in the elements, walkers enjoying the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, families looking for a traditional beach holiday and activity parks, and international visitors who want a good base for exploring the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
The accommodation is one of nine similar properties at Freshwater Bay Holiday Village that are owned and managed by Jenny (Pembrokeshire Wales Coastal Holidays). Frequently extended families and friends book a few of the properties so that they can have a break away together but still have their own space. The reasonable rates make this type of venture affordable.

About this location
The Pembrokeshire region
This part of Wales has one of the milder climates in the UK. The sea and air quality are also good.
Much of Pembrokeshire is in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park - the coastal strip, the Preseli Mountains and the upper reaches of the Milford Haven Estuary. It was designated as a National Park because of its spectacular natural beauty. The Pembrokeshire islands and their wildlife are particular gems.
The region also boasts lots of pubs, restaurants and cafes where you can sample fresh, local produce and a friendly relaxed atmosphere.
Pembrokeshire has attracted many artists- a vast range of arts and crafts can be discovered.
Being at the south west corner of Wales, the area is far enough away from built up areas not to have been spoilt. It does not get the crowding associated with some other holiday destinations.
Visitors come to this area because it has spectacular scenery, beautiful beaches and lots of opportunities for enjoying the outdoors.
Within easy walking distance of 'Periwinkle' is Freshwater East Beach, sheltered Freshwater Bay suitable for swimming, fishing and boating, Freshwater East Nature Reserve and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.
Accessible by car or public transport are lots of other beaches, castles, theme parks, beauty spots, National Trust land and opportunities for a wide range of outdoor activities.
There are also interesting towns and villages to visit such as picturesque Tenby, historic Pembroke, quaint Narberth with its arts and crafts and the tiny city of St David's.
There are lots of ideas of places to visit and things to do on Pembrokeshire Wales Coastal Holidays own website.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am very pleased to hear that you found the property good value for money, clean and convenient for the beach.
Readers may be interested to know that I have a variety of holiday properties in Freshwater Bay Holiday Village including some with closer parking and no steps, should that be a concern, such as Anemone, No 20 and I am happy to provide access statements.
I am also pleased to advise that the onsite bar/restaurant is currently being refurbished and will reopen soon. Apart from the Longhouse, this location is un-commercialised. Many people choose it for that reason.

I used this house as an accommodation base for walking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which passes within 200 yards of the property. There is also a coast bus stop at this point.
I had a great stay here. The property was very well furnished and equipped. The owner (Jenny) was very conscientious, as well as being a nice person. She made sure everything was working, and checked that I was happy. The next time I come to Pembrokeshire, this will be my first port of call.
The site was very quiet in September, but the site restaurant and bar were open.
