Ayia Irini is just 5 minutes walk from the beautiful and traditional village of Frenaros. Local amenities include supermarkets, bakeries, tavernas, cafes, banks to name but a few. The village is set among fields and trees, yet only 10 minutes drive from the larger resorts of Protaras and Ayia Napa.
The apartment shares a swimming pool, has lift and stair access to the first floor. The property is an end apartment and benefits from two balconies: One leads from the living room and benefits from the morning sun. A double balcony overlooks the pool area capturing the afternoon sun and evening sunsets. Tables and chairs provide al fresco dining opportunities on both balconies. The Famagusta District
Frenaros is one of the 16 villages which make up the Ammochostos (Famagusta) district. Also known as the "Red villages" owing to the very fertile, red soil which contributes to the delicious taste of the locally gorwn and harveted Cyprus potatoes.
This south-eastern part of Cyprus is famous for its sandy beaches, and the warmth and hospitality of the locals.
A 10 minute drive away is the administrative town of Paralimni, with many shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.
Visit the beautiful beach cove of Ayia Triada with the small white church perched on the hill overlooking the beach and a nature trail which leads around a cliff to offer a spectacular viewpoint of the "ghost town" of Famagusta.
The nearby resorts of Kapparis / Pernera / Protaras / Ayia Napa all cater to whatever type of holiday you are looking for.
Frenaros area
Water world in Ayia Napa, claims to be the largest water park in Europe and worth a visit. Go karting is next door to the water park.
Beautiful Cape Greco is a short drive away.
The Troodos mountains (home to Cyprus ski slopes!) are 2.25 hours drive away and provides for some spectacular scenery, rural villages and vineyards.
How to get there
Scheduled airline services operate from UK and European cities to Larnaca Airport (40 minutes away), including Cyprus Airways, British Airways, Lufthansa, Austrian and Malev. Charter airlines operate during the summer season, offering seat only fares. Paphos airport is approximately 2 hours away. All major car hire firms have a branch at Larnaca and Paphos airports.
