The Costa de Prata/Silver Coast region
Portugal's Atlantic coast hasn't had the same publicity granted to its southern cousin the Algarve - but, as you will discover when you come here, that's all for the better! The region can be your own private paradise, and you won't have to share it with too many other holidaymakers. As the Daily Telegraph said, "Portugal's Atlantic coast has beautiful beaches, traditional townscapes and authentic food - and it's only half the price of the Algarve."
Foz do Arelho area
Foz Do Arelho has a fabulous, vast expanse of sandy beach and lies alongside a lagoon, which has a sailing school, offering kite surfing, canoeing, sailing and catamarans. The nearby historic medieval walled hilltop town of Obidos is an enchanting stop, with its picturesque streets and views of the surrounding countryside, It has a number of festivals throughout the year, including the famous Chocolate festival in February.
