This recently refurbished, detached property is nestled in the hills rising up from the coast in the exclusive region of Nadadouro in Foz Do Arelho on Portugal’s Silver Coast with magnificent views of Obidos lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. The gentle roar of the distant breaking waves provides a natural accompaniment to evening meals on the terrace.

This lovely 5-bedroom villa provides the perfect base from which to relax, explore Portugal’s splendid silver coast, partake in a range of exhilarating watersport activities or play a round of golf on some of the most exciting and new developments in Europe.

The villa and surrounding area is perfect for families or groups of friends looking for a luxurious holiday any time of the year.

The Costa de Prata/Silver Coast/Central Portugal region

The Silver Coast has an almost perfect climate. Winters are mild with daytime temperatures averaging 17 degrees. In the summer, cooling Atlantic breezes make for a comfortable 27 degree daytime average. The Silver coast enjoys almost 275 days a year of sunshine.

The beaches and seaside towns make this region the most popular holiday destination for the Portuguese themselves. Amongst the most spectacular beaches are those at Foz Do Arelho, Salir Do Porto, Sao Martinho do Porto. The beach at Foz is unique because it caters for small children and families with acres of soft white sand leading into shallow, calm waters of the Obidos lagoon. Any yet, the western coastline leads directly into the Atlantic and is a favoured surfing spot for locals.

The local cuisine is dominated by the fresh fish and crustaceans of the area including swordfish, sole, sardines, squid, octopus and sea snails. The Portuguese also adore meat and cook it to the most varied and flavourful recipes including grilled steak in Port wine or the sucking lamb stewed or marinated in spices then baked and of course pork.

The most popular cheese is "Queijo da Serra", served as an appetiser in nearly all restaurants, a delicious creamy cheese similar in texture to brie.

There are many wonderful places to visit nearby such as Foz Do Arelho (chic cafes, fantastic beaches, surf culture), Nazare (beach, vibrant night light, waterslide park and bull ring), Peniche (fishing port with wonderful seafood restaurants), Obidos (medieval walled town with many fascinating festivals), Alcobaca (World Heritage Monastery) and many golf courses including links at Praia De'l Rey.

The Foz do Arelho area

The local sailing club in Foz is only 500m from the Villa and offers a range of watersport activities or tuition including kite surfing, windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, wake boarding and jet skis.

On the Atlantic coast, Surfoz provides all the kit and instruction you need to take on the waves in a surfing and boogie boarding paradise.

Other sports in vicinity include golf (Praia D'El Ray, Golden Eagle, Camporeal, Vimeiro and Botado) tennis (Caldas Da Rainha), scuba diving and fishing (Peniche) and horse riding (Foz Do Arelho and Obidos).
