A 10 minute walk/short drive into Foz village is a bakery, small supermarkets, bank, doctor, bars and restaurants. Just 8km from Caldas da Rainha for hypermarkets, great shopping and a daily market with fresh produce. 30km from Praia D'el Ray Golf Resort.

The Costa de Prata/Silver Coast region
This region is a beautiful and unspoilt area of Portugal. There are beautiful beaches, breathtaking scenery and many historic old towns to visit.
The Silver Coast is one of Portugal's most exciting wine producing regions - via its wine route some excellent reds and whites can be sampled.
Foz do Arelho area
Foz Do Arelho's beautiful white sandy beach is just 2 minutes walk from the apartment. The lagoon is warm, calm and safe for children. The Atlantic rollers are dramatic to watch and popular with surfers. Other nearby beaches include Sao Martinho da Porto (13km) and Salir do Porto (10km).
The Sailing School on Obidos Lagoon offers the following activities; windsurfing, catamarans, kitesurfing, waterskiing and canoeing. You can choose to join a course for a few hours each day or take private lessons.
The medieval town of Obidos is only a 20 minute drive away. Obidos was a gift from the King of Portugal to his wife. The town has narrow cobbled stone streets and whitewashed houses with blue trim and flowered window boxes draped in Bougainvillea. There are plenty of shops selling local ceramics, crafts and gifts. Obidos hosts an annual chocolate festival in February, Easter is celebrated with a week of events including a torchlight procession through the cobbled streets and there is a medieval week in July.
Caldas da Rainha is just a 10 minute drive away and offering several hyper-markets, fantastic shopping, hospital, train line into Lisbon and a daily market offering fresh fish and produce.
Head to the capital city of Lisbon for the day (55 minutes drive) to experience the diverse culture and architecture. At Lisbon's heart are wide tree-lined avenues graced by Art Nouveau buildings, mosaic pavements and street cafes.
On a clear day, you can see the picturesque Berlengas Islands from the terrace. This natural reserve can be accessed by boat trips from Peniche (40 minutes drive).
Just 25 minutes drive away is the famous Praia D'el Ray Golf Course. This award winning par 72 championship links golf course provides spectacular views of pine forests, sand dunes and the Berlenga Islands. Other local courses include Golden Eagle and Campo Real. How to get there
Fly to Lisbon airport. The apartment is just 55 minutes drive away. It is a very easy route and mostly motorway. Easyjet fly from Luton, Gatwick, Bristol and Liverpool to Lisbon. Tap (Air Portugal) fly from Heathrow and Gatwick to Lisbon. BMI Baby fly from Birmingham to Lisbon. Thompson fly from Manchester to Lisbon.
Ryanair fly from Stansted to Oporto (3 hour drive to the apartment).
All of these airlines offer great prices especially if you book early.

The terrace offers a great place to chill out, read a book or watch the kite surfers on the lagoon. The internet connection allows you to bring a laptop and (if required) you can stay in touch with work/friends. The apartment has central heating and double glazing thus making it comfortable all year round.
Underground parking space and private outdoor parking. This is a first floor property.
As the beach is reached down a number of steps this property may be unsuitable for people with restricted mobility.
