About the home

Cascade holiday cottage is set in a breathtaking location within the quaint and pretty village of Golant, an area of outstanding natural beauty, just a few miles upriver from the historic coastal town of Fowey.

The cottage has two large double sized bedrooms and is ideal for 2 to 4 persons.

Cascade has been renovated by the "Builders of Fowey" in early 2012 to a very high standard. The cottage is perched on the banks of the river Fowey estuary and enjoys stunning uninterrupted views of the river and its surrounding woodland. This is a great base from which to explore the very best of Cornwall and a special place to stay.

Golant is known for its wonderful location and stunning views across the Fowey estuary. The tides are continually changing and provide an ever-changing backdrop and a fascination to watch. The location will appeal equally to those who wish for a quiet break away to enjoy this most beautiful location as well as those who may seek a more energetic holiday of boating, fishing, walking or the excellent beaches which abound along the south coast of Cornwall.

The Cottage is set in its own large and established gardens, with its own private steps up to Gumms Lane above (providing access to the Golant Downs and the Saints Way) and also its own private steps down to Water Lane below (providing access to the quay, river and sandbars) .

Facilities

Lounge/diner/conservatory & kitchen (all with excellent views).

2 double bedrooms: master with double bed and second bedroom with twin beds (bed linen provided, comprising sheets, pillow cases, duvets and duvet covers).

Master bedroom has its own balcony with magnificent views over the river estuary.

Shower room, toilet and basin, plus an additional downstairs cloakroom (all new 2012). A small hand towel is provided in the shower room and the cloakroom, and visitors are asked to provide their own bathroom and beach towels.

Combination of night storage heaters plus electric wall mounted panel heaters.

Lounge has two settees plus wall mounted LED TV

White goods provided: washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, oven and hob (all new 2012)

Further details outdoors:
Large private gardens, with gardener accessing on changeover days

Own access to Water Lane below, leading to Golant quay.

Patio area to sit out and enjoy the stunning and panoramic views.

There is private parking and additional public parking is also available on Water Lane.

The Fowey / Golant area

Golant is just 2 miles up the river from Fowey and is known for its wonderful location and stunning views across the Fowey Estuary. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The tides are continually changing and provide an ever-changing backdrop and a fascination to watch.

The Saints Way (to Fowey) crosses the Golant Downs and on to Fowey.

Golant has a real ale pub at the Fisherman's Arms and the Cormorant Restaurant is also in the village.

Organised kayak trips, as well as beginner taster lessons, are orgainsed by Encounter Cornwall from the village and will provide access to the riverside creeks surrounded by ancient woodlands.

“Stunning Location” Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean with all the facilities you need. Fantastic views from the main bedroom, lounge area and of course the outside terrace. Good base for exploring a very pleasant area... more
