About the home

The seaside village of Beg Meil lies on a promentory overlooking Concarneau Bay, where you can get a ferry across to the famous fishing port of Concarneau itself for a great day out. The property is a well furnished modern villa on the outskirts of the village. The area is surrounded by lovely beaches of all descriptions from little coves, to vast open stretches, miles long, where you can really get away from it all!

The Brittany / Finistere region

Located just outside the village of Beg Meil this property has a high customer satisfaction. Beg Meil (2k)has a few shops, bars and restaurants and you can take boat trips to Concarneau, and the Ils Glenans. These are a protected group of islands renowned for their crystal clear water and abundant wildlife. Diving trips.
Fouesnant (3k) has a good supermarket, local shops, bars and restaurants, and a good weekly market.
The well known resort of Benodet, is about 5 minutes drive and has an excellent range of bars and restaurants plus a casino. You can take boats trips to a wide range of destinations from the port.
We are very fond of this area with its excellent choice of beaches and within easy reach of Quimper, a large town with good shopping, particularly in the old quarter.

The Fouesnant area

Deep in the heart of the woods and meadows, there lies a sandy beach. Fouesnant is sheltered from wind and storms and is a haven of peace and quiet, combining the pleasures of the coast with those of the countryside, the sea and the land. The town is the cider-making capital of the area and is famous for the traditional headdresses, which are the most elaborate in Brittany. Fouesnant has long been an important tourist centre, but it now has a food-processing industry and has kept a population of about 150 fishermen, who unload their catch in one of three small local ports.
