Your nearest bar is just a 5 min walk to Alma Rosa on Viale Morin 89a. The Bagno Lorenzo Levante restaurant is just 100 meters away. We recommend Bagno Lorenzo Levante for great Italian food and Orlando for great pizza. For cheaper pizza go to Fuori Rotta or Pizzeria il Nicchio in Fiumetto.

There is a street market on Wednesdays and Sundays in the town. You'll also find 6 nightclubs in town. Your closest is a 5 minute walk away called Capannina. Another recommended club is called Faruk. For bars we recommend Zanzibar, Bulldog and Bar Morin, in front of Capannina.

Golf is just 10 min drive away from Forte dei Marmi at Versilia Golf. For skiing you need to drive for 2 hours to Abetone.

Your nearest supermarket is Coop Pietrasanta - a 5 min drive away or RG Supermarket.

The Tuscany region

Forte dei Marmi is situated in a charming part of Tuscany, that is definitely worth exploring. There are good transport links in the area, but to really enjoy the freedom of venturing through Tuscany's green valleys and the stunning Tyrrenian coast, it is probably best to hire a car. Viareggio is the largest commune on Tuscany's coast and it annually hosts one of Italy's most famous Carnevale (carnival). The papier-mâché floats and masked parades are world renowned and the partying is legendary.

Lucca and Pisa are not far away and provide very different experiences. Pisa is a tourist hotspot, with millions of people flocking there every year to see the leaning tower and other attractions. Lucca is a delightfully small, walled city that you could easily walk around in a day. There are many cathedrals, galleries, museums and gardens dotted in between the medieval buildings and the walls have been fully restored and turned into beautiful parkland. The city is more relaxed, friendlier, quieter and more reasonably priced than other major Tuscan destinations and well worth a visit. Music fans may already be aware of Lucca because of the annual rock festival that is held annually, or because it is the birthplace Puccini. This clash of cultures is what Lucca is all about, being relevant to the present whilst cherishing its history.

Forte dei Marmi

Forte Dei Marmi is one of the highlights of the Tuscan Riviera (Versilia). It is a small coastal resort which features 20km of golden sandy beaches on the Tyrrhenian coast. It has long been a favourite holiday destination of wealthy and influential Italians from the north of the country, but its close proximity to Pisa airport has opened the door to travellers from all over Europe.

Prestigious destinations like Forte Dei Marmi attract luxury brands, and the shopping here is excellent. There is a wide range of internationally famous stores as well as a number of small, local boutiques. Because the fashion giants of Milan are not far away, top quality goods are on offer here and many can be found at heavily discounted prices in the street market in Piazza Donatori degli Organi.

There is a great selection of restaurants in the town offering everything from excellent pizza and pasta to fine dining. The nearest restaurant to the apartment is only 100m away at the beach club (bagno) Lorenzo Levante and it offers great Italian food. You do not need to be a member to dine at most beach clubs and they usually have a bar as well. Prices to use the facilities (changing rooms, showers, sun loungers etc) vary depending on the exclusivity of the establishment. Water activities that are offered include jet skis, water skiing, parasailing and pedal boats.

The town is small enough to get round on foot, but you can get around quicker and see a lot more of the local area if you hire bikes. Tennis and horse riding are nearby and the nearest golf course is only 10 minutes drive away.

At night time the town comes alive and there are a lot of great clubs to enjoy and funfairs set up on the streets with dodgem cars and trampolines. The majority of people staying in the town in summer are on holiday so there is a real party atmosphere.

"Perfect Location, Very nice people, but just Average accommodations"

First let me say that yes I would definitely stay here again, but there should be things people are aware of when considering booking. I found the negatives to be minor overall but we also got a grea… More

Thank you for your constructive criticism.

As we don't live in the apartments we rent, we are always looking for pointers on what can be done to improve our property for future guests to enjoy. We need to learn from who lives the house. Thank you very much for what you have mentioned.

Concerning the water temperature issues, we have called our plumber who has come in today and fixed all the issues. thanks for bringing this up.

i am sorry Gabriella did not show you where everything was, but you did find the laundry area where you could have done some linen which needed cleaning. As for the dishes etc etc... you find all shapes and sized dishes and coffee mugs, as well as the little espresso ones in the wooden cupboard under the TV in the living area. You can't miss it. it is 2 yards long with 4 doors on it...

Luckily our neighbors are very nice and they helped you out. I thanked them when I came by today to over look things.

When I was in Forte last, precisely the day after your arrival I came by 2 times to see if you were in to introduce myself but unfortunately I did not manage to cross paths and meet ya. It was a nice day out so I presumed you where out for the day. Next time I will leave a small note on the door.

As for the pizza place, I went round today to verify that all the locations I had mentioned in our welcome pack were open and had not closed. I spoke to the owner of "Fuori Rotta" who told me he has been open since June 1st and does a full service from 8am till 12pm, I presume you must have walked past it as it is just at the first crossing exiting our property on the left about 500 yards away.

Please do come back again and see the changes we made thanks to your suggestions and to see that our peak prices are not as steep as you think they are...
