The Scottish Highlands region
A most spectacular part of the West Highlands with outstanding views from this 17 acre wooded hill side site with its own small beach with built barbecue area. The weather on the west coast is constantly changing but rarely hostile and there are plenty of options even for a rainy day. The area is steeped in history, eg the Glencoe massacre and is fantastic for nature lovers, with plenty of wildlife, including red squirrels, pine marten, badger and deer as well as rich birdlife, all in the native woodland on site.
The Fort William / Onich area
Lochaber is not known as the outdoor capital of the UK without good cause and there is a limitless range of local attractions and activities, from extreme sports to quiet walks in the high hills. Glencoe with its world famous climbing and occasional skiing is just round the corner.
With Fort William only 10 miles away there is excellent shopping and plenty of good places to eat out, including the local Onich Hotel, just 5 minutes walk away. Fort William has everything for the holiday visitor, culture, good food, events. The Ardnamurchan peninsula is just a short ferry crossing away on the Corran Ferry (3kms), and the famous steam train from Fort William (Hogwarts Express) takes you to Mallaig to catch the ferry to Skye and the Hebrides. You can also go east by train over the desolate Rannoch Moor.
