From the owner

Built originally in the 18th Century, Stone Cottage provides magnificent views across Loch Leven, whilst the rear facing bedrooms provide scenic woodland views over the cottage grounds, which are close to one acre in size and include a stream and open waterways.

The cottage is a short stroll away from both Glencoe and Ballachullish villages, as well as being a few hundred yards for the popular gift and coffee shop 'Crafts and Things' which is an ideal place to relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast or sample a fine selection of refreshments after your invigorating day out in the mountains.

The cottage is an ideal base for walkers and climbers to explore the local area.

Watersports and activity centre are either a short walk away or a short drive, so ideal for the family wanting to undertake an activity holiday.

In line with our policy to always improve our cottages, in December 2018 we are installing high quality double glazing in our cottages with the ability to reduce eternal noise down to a minimum, to help ensure all our guests enjoy the peace and quiet. New external doors are also being installed.

Further details

Rental price includes bed linen, towels, electricity, heating (on 3 times a day), Wi-fi and a basket of wood for the log burner.

The final clean is also included in the price, but naturally we request that you leave the cottage clean and tidy.

Due to the age of the cottage, the outside patio areas and steps are made from slate. In poor weather, these can be slippy. Therefore the cottage is unsuitable for young children or those that have restricted mobility.

Further details indoors

The cottage benefits from high quality 'Halo' branded Italian leather sofa and chairs in the living room. The majority of the other furniture in the cottage is also from 'Halo' brand.

The main bedroom has a tv/dvd player, ideal for relaxing in the evenings or enjoying the morning lie in whilst having breakfast in bed.

The living room has loch views. Watch the mist rise off the loch in the mornings, or in the evenings watch people racing the boats on the loch.

The kitchen is fully equipped with quality cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. There is also a dishwasher to make your stay even more relaxing.

A wide selection of DVDs and board games are available to keep all the family entertained.

Further details outdoors

Whilst at the rear, you can sit out in the private patio area across woodland, and try to spot the deer which come down to feed in the early evening.
The patio is an ideal suntrap in summer, and receives the sun for most of the day.

Car parking is available at the rear of the cottage.

Interaction with guest

To help make it easier when you arrive. We operate a key safe policy, so you are able to let yourselves in anytime from 4pm. We feel, this takes pressure off guests when they are driving to our cottages, as they do not feel as if they have to arrive at an expected time. We want you to enjoy the scenery. During your stay, if you do have any questions or require assistance, then it is possible to contact either myself or our local contact.

House rules

Guests should be aged 5 and over, due to high walls and steep steps outside the cottage.
The price includes the final clean, but we expect the cottages to be left tidy - this includes bins emptied, dishes washed and put away in cupboards. Please take your own glass away to be recycled. If this is left for the housekeeper, a £5 charge will be made. This will be paid direct to the housekeeper.
