The Scottish Highlands region
The Highlands of Scotland is a region dominated by its world class mountainous terrain, the culture of which is derived from the ancient Scottish clans. It is home to Britain's highest mountain (Ben Nevis) and its largest body of water (Loch Ness) as well as a diverse range of other attractions including the Isle of Skye, the Great Glen and Glencoe, scene of the infamous 17th century massacre, and more latterly the setting for the Harry Potter films. The Highlands is a sparsely populated, unspoilt corner of Britain to which visitors return time and again.
Spean Bridge lies at an advantageous position in terms of getting about, sitting as it does at the meeting of natural lines of communication. Travel in all directions is possible from here, known locally as the Crossroads of the Highlands. Now held to be the outdoor capital of the UK and home to innumerable lochs, rivers and mountains including Britains tallest, Ben Nevis, the area is a perennial favourite with walkers, munro baggers and climbers. Cyclists enjoy a variety of routes, including the international downhill and cross country bike tracks on Aonach Mor. Pony trekking, golfing, loch cruises, boating and water sports, walking, cycling, fishing and fine cuisine are all available locally. Skiing and snow boarding can be enjoyed a mere 5 miles away at the Nevis Range, Britains highest ski range.

Phil and ria were really helpful n do a fantastic job of keeping the logdes clean and tidy. Electricity was really cheap n u can look up the amount ur using as u go anyway. We paid only 11£ at the end of our stay n we had the heating on alot plus we did all our own cooking. Dnt worry about takin cookin equipment because the kitchen is well kitted out. The veiws are amazing from the lodge. We arrived in the night and had a lovely suprise when we opened the curtains in the morning. Would definetly go n have already recommended to my family.
