About the home

Lovely spacious cottage for 4. The entrance hall with lots of storage leads onto the living room with comfy leather sofas, widescreen television with FreeSat, music centre with I-pod dock, DVD player with a good selection of rainy day DVD's, CD's and an offering of local books, glossy magazines and board games. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave, fridge/freezer, the all-important dishwasher, halogeen hob,double oven, washer/dryer and a lot of little extras like dishwasher tablets, herbs & spices, coffee, tea, nice shortbread and a complementary bottle of wine waiting for you. A kingsize and twin bedroom (can be made up as another kingsize) are freshly decorated with all bedlinen & fluffy towels provided. The bathroom offers a large shower cabinet with power shower, washhandbasin and WC, heated towelrail and electric shaver point with toiletries and hairdryer available. Centrally heated throughout for your comfort, a lovely warm and cosy cottage in winter and all is included in the price! Outside; secure off street parking, a fully enclosed garden with garden furniture & BBQ and garden shed with storage for bikes etc

The Scottish Highlands region

If you are a hill-climbing buff, it's all here. But if you're not, drive about just ooh-ing and aahing at all the lovely scenery.
But there's fishing, sailing, riding, skiing in winter or just walking on the pebbly beach.

There is outstanding low level walking with 43 Munro Mountains within 15 miles. The Glencoe ski centre is at the heart of things in winter but walkers and climbers can take on the challenge of these hills in all seasons and other adventure activities such as canyoning are also available.

Ballachulish has a very well stocked Co-op open every day from 8am 'til 10pm. The Laroch bar is in walking distance where they serve barmeals. The Isle of Glencoe is our local hotel. We recommend the Clachaig near Glencoe Village and the Glencoe Hotel for meals out locally.

The Fort William / Glencoe area

Ideally situated between Oban & Fort William. Ardachy offers a great starting point from where to explore our beautiful Highlands & Islands. Glenfinnan Viaduct & monument are just 1 hour away and the wonderful beaches of Morar. A trip on the Hogwart Express is a day well spent or just cycling along the Caledonian Canal. The busy port of Oban offers day trips to the Islands and Loch Ness is within easy reach.

“Amazing holiday in a beautiful cottage” We really enojoyed our stay here. Very relaxing holiday in a beautiful and well equipped cottage. Great location in the village, and lots to do in the area ( even when it rains!). Attention to detail in the cottage is fantastic and it has everything you need- lovely to come back to after a hard day hiking. Couldn't recommend it enough - will definitely be back!

“Excellent cottage with everything you need” The cottage is in a nice a quiet location which is just what we wanted, but still with easy access to local amenities. There's supermarket at the bottom of the road just a couple of minutes away and a pub where you can eat, other eating locations are a little further away but still reasonable to access. The cottage layout and facilities were excellent, we couldn't have asked for anything more. We particularly liked sitting in the conservatory watching the birds in the garden, there were a number of bird feeders and so many birds you just didn't know where to look. There were a number of smaller touches in the cottage which we appreciated, access to a coffee machine, milk and other essentials available for when you arrive, a bottle of wine and chocolates! We also found there to be plenty of storage to store rucksacks and other outdoor gear. Overall an excellent holiday and I'd fully recommend Ardachy.
