The Scottish Highlands region

Here at Loch Leven Holidays we are situated in a quite location four miles form the main A82, which is the North/South route up the Scottish West coast.

We are only 7 miles from the spectacular Glencoe, 40 miles from Oban which is a lovely little fishing port where you can enjoy shopping, eating, walking or even seal watching.

Fort William the home of Ben Nevis (the highest mountain in the British Isles) is only 16 miles away where many indoor and outdoor activities can be enjoyed.

Loch Ness the biggest Loch in Scotland is 1 1/2 hours drive away, thrugh fantastic scenery (you may even spot the MONSTER!).  Find out all about Nessie at the Loch Ness 2000 exhibition.

We are ideally situated to walk, climb, bike, boat or drive around the beautiful area. Lochaber “The Outdoor Capital of the UK” www.outdoorcapital.co.uk a whole range of activities right on your door step.

Fort William

Next to Loch Leven Holidays we have Loch Leven Seafood Café www.lochlevenseafoodcafe.co.uk which offers the freshest seafood cooked by an award winning chef at very competitive prices. What more could you ask for!!

If seafood isn’t your thing they also do various non fish options or if you fancy something more traditional there is The Mac Donald Hotel (www.macdonaldhotel.co.uk) in Kinlochleven which has a wide range of good home cooked meals in the bar or restaurant, only 5 miles away you can drive or get a taxi.

If it is just coffee and CAKE you are after Crafts & things in Glencoe is the perfect pit stop for this, all home baking, you can’t resist.

It is a great spot to pick up a few pressies to take home as the craft shop is full of interesting gifts www.craftsandthings.co.uk

If all this fresh air is too much or the weather is not too good (hard to believe in Scotland), there are many indoor options.

You can visit the Whiskey Distillery www.bennevisdistillery.co.uk in Fort William where Ben Nevis Whiskey is distilled and enjoy a free sample, go to Fired Art (www.fired-art.co.uk) in town and make your very own clay pot while sampling their coffee and homemade cakes, got Ten Pin Bowling at the Nevis

Centre(www.neviscentre.co.uk), swimming at the leisure centre, ice climbing at the Ice Factor (www.ice-factor.co.uk) or you can even go and see the rare gems and minerals at the Treasures of the Earth exhibition in Corpach near Fort William.

Alternatively you can put a c.d. on, pick up a book and gaze out at the loch and the Glencoe mountains from the warm and comfy sofas in your chalets or cottage!

"One of the most beautiful places in Scotland - once visited - destined to return"

Our second year with Sharon & Ian (2nd decade on Loch Leven) For those who love the great outdoors, peace and quiet and spectacular scenery - look no further. There is plenty to do on your doorstep or further afield - the choice is yours. The sheer beaty of this location means that you don't have to go far (the armchair is good on rainy days - only 3 out of 21 during our stay!) to observe what Loch Leven has to offer. The cottage is comfortable, clean and well equipped - a home from home. For the small boat owner this is a perfect place to stay and explore the local area - the fishing is also good! We are due back in 2014 - if not before!

"Very comfortable and spacious accommodation near Loch Leven"

The Cottage is located near the shore of Loch Leven and a 20 to 30 minute drive from Fort William. The spacious accommodation with a well equipped kitchen is to a high standard and the children had a room each! The view from the lounge was as good and the scenery changed quite dramatically with the weather, but it was always a pleasure to watch. A very relaxing stay, and will be back if I can get there before you!
