The Florida / Florida Gulf Coast region
Fort Myers is known as the City of Palms.Spectacular white beaches line the coast whilst the exclusive enclaves of Sanibel and Captiva are a short car ride away.Situated on the Western side of Florida the sunsets are some of the most beautiful in the world.Thomas Edison and Henry Ford made their winter homes here(300 days per year experience temperatures of 75F or higher).Shopping opportunities are more or less endless(bring a spare suitcase)ranging from Walmart to designer outlet malls all within a short distance.For those with a serious shopping habit the chic boutiques of Naples are just a 30mins drive away.

Edison Museum,shelling on Sanibel beaches.Miromar outlet shopping mall.Everglades airboat rides(aprox 1 hour by car).Many restaurants to suit all budgets/tastes within easy reach. Any pilots amongst you can visit Page General Aviation Field(15 mins away) and hire an aircraft plus instructor at aprox.half UK prices.
How to get there
Aprox.20mins by car from Fort Myers(South West Florida)Regional airport or 2hrs from Miami. Continental Airlines fly to Fort Myers via their US hub as do many other US airlines. Alternatively fly direct to Miami or Tampa(All major carriers including British Airways(2 flights daily)and Virgin),hire a car from the airport and via Interstate 75 (Alligator Alley) to exit 131 which is 10 minutes from our house.

Pool/spa heating (recommended for winter months) $125 per week. 20% deposit required on booking,balance no later than 8 weeks before arrival. Local management company retained as point of contact whilst staying at the property. Snowbird rental enquiries welcomed - rates by negotiation.A security deposit against damage is required upon arrival - this is taken by means of a credit card swipe by our management company. Cleaning charge is $150.Electricity allowance is $50 per week - usage in excess of this amount is chargeable extra.Check in time is 4.00p.m.,check out 10.00a.m.
