Our detached property is located in a prestigious cul de sac and the Swimming Pool at the rear overlooks a tidal saltwater canal and our private Boat Dock ! Being single storey it provides easy ground floor access and it is ideal for the elderly & infirm.Supervision of children using the swimming pool is much easier than a lot of other beach properties that are built on stilts, with the living accommodation on the first floor. The pool being some 27 feet (8.5m) x 14 feet (4.3m) is heated by an electrical Heat Pump all year round the cost of which is INCLUDED in our rates.On the pool deck you will be found a Gas BBQ, Sun Beds and most importantly a covered patio area with a Dining Table and Six Chairs, this area has Lighting and Ceiling Fan, a lot of guests dine out here in preference to the Dining Room inside. The Bungalow is surrounded by lush lawns and tropical plants, together with 5 species of Palm Tree. At Sunset (or any time!) walk to the beach with a glass of Wine,a Camera and watch the sunset over Sanibel Island & the Gulf of Mexico. Our area is known as the Platinum Coast of Florida and after visiting some of the other nearby beaches you will appreciate why some 14 years ago we fell in love with the area and in particular Fort Myers Beach and name our property `Island Dream` Many of of our guests over the years have said that it is the best located and equipped British owned , weekly rental Beach property in Florida.

The Florida / Florida Gulf Coast region
The area on the Gulf coast from Sanibel/Captiva Island, Fort Myers Beach, Lovers Key , Barefoot Beach and Naples have what are probably the finest beaches in Florida and is known as the Platinum Coast. The location is ideal for a day visit to to the Everglades, also you may wish to visit the winter homes of Edison and Ford who were great friends and lived next door to each other.
Fort Myers Beach / Estero Island area
Fort Myers Beach ( Estero Island) is a barrier reef island being some 7 miles long and less than a mile wide. Fort Myers City is some 10 miles inland where all the major stores will be found. Fishing,Boating and Golf are the main pastimes and the local wildlife will never cease to amaze you. Just a short walk from or house a Publix provisions store and a Marina will be found, while some 2 miles north on the Island is where Times Square is located with numerous tourist type shops and eating places with outside dining. One mile south from our house along the Island there is a Cinema showing all the latest films, here you can also dine while watching a film. A further mile on from here is Santini Shopping with various shops and restaruants.
How to get there
All the main airlines fly from the UK into Orlando, Miami & Tampa airports. Budget airlines fly into Sandford & Orlando airports however, we like to fly into Southwest Florida International at Fort Myers (RSW) via various USA hub airports, it is then just an 18 mile drive to the Beach and our house. We would suggest you hire your car through one of the companies that advertise on Teletext, these use all the major car rental companies such as Dollar, Alamo, Hertz etc.
