The Loch Ness region

South Loch Ness is one of the most picturesque areas of the Highlands. It is ideally placed for visitors to use as a base for exploring the whole of the Highlands area and its many attractions.

There are rail links to either Spean Bridge or Inverness from the south, and a regular bus service from both through the village.Inverness airport is also only 34 miles from Fort Augustus and hire cars are readily available should you require one.

You will be amazed at the views around every corner, whether you want adventure or just a tranquil holiday away from it all Loch Ness area offers it all.

Fort Augustus

You will receive a warm welcome in Fort Augustus probably the most picturesque village in the Highlands. With its quaint grassed areas overlooking the Caledonian canal you can sit, have a drink and watch the very many boats traversing the Lock systems to and from Loch Ness.

Take a wander or cycle the many forest walks at Inchnacardoch forest the very first Forestry Comission planting in the UK.Marvel at Loch Ness, visit Urquhart Castle or take a cruise and hunt for the elusive 'Nessie'.

There are a lot of things to see and do in South Loch Ness, golf in the village and surrounding areas, horse riding, canoeing, quad bike riding, clay pidgeon shooting cycling forest tracks, walking (the Great Glen way goes right past the drive to the cabin) to name but a few local activities. The cabins location is in a tranquil part of the village with views from up high, yet it is only a five minute walk to the pubs and eating houses of Fort Augustus. The location offers an ideal base to tour either the West or East coasts of the Highlands. You will definitely enjoy your stay here in Fort Agustus, and we look forward to meeting you.
