Our 'home from home' apartment is built in a traditional Menorcan style, having 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies. It has the bonus of being situated on the top floor and is detached on all four sides. It has a balcony to the front and terrace to the side. Both of which enjoy extensive and unrestricted views across the bay at Cala Tirant and inland across the unspoiled countryside towards Monte Toro, the island's highest point.
The community has attractive gardens, a communal swimming pool with children's section and is only a few hundred metres to the beach which has a resident life guard during the main season.
Playas de Fornells is an exclusive private development on the north of the island, a few kilometres from the unspoilt fishing village of Fornells. Playas is fully self-contained with a range of bars, restaurants and supermarkets.
Fornells is less than 5 minutes away by car and offers a superb choice of harbour front restaurants and bars. It is fast becoming the most exclusive location on the island but the harbour area remains completely unspoiled.
Numerous beaches, traditional towns, golf, waterparks, horse riding, boat hire, windsurfing, diving, are all within 25 minutes drive.

The Menorca region
Just 2 hours from the UK and accessible from most UK airports, Menorca is the second largest of the Balearic islands and measures only 30 miles x 12 miles. Menorca offers everything (climate, food, lifestyle) you would expect from the mainland, but with its own distinctive Menorcan character. Virtually unspoilt and with more beaches than the other Balearic islands, it is an ideal family destination. With the contrasting cities of Mahon (the capital) with its Georgian architecture and Ciutadella (the old capital), both with an array of restaurants and bars to explore. Both Mahon and Ciutadella come alive at night. Mahon's waterfront is the place to 'people watch' with its luxury yachts and cruise liners (The King of Spain, Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas are among a number of celebrities known for mooring their yachts in Mahon harbour). Ciutadella has a family atmosphere where Menorcan families like to stroll on the cobbled streets between the old Gothic style buildings in the evenings. With numerous restaurants hidden in the many backstreets and also along the harbour front. Ciutadella harbour is also where you can catch a ferry to Majorca for the day.
Fornells / Playas de Fornells area
Fornells is located to the North of the island. It is a traditional white-washed fishing village, well known for its excellent fish restaurants. In July one of the many fiestas takes place in Fornells. The fiesta lasts for four days and involves many beautiful, well-trained horses dancing to traditional music. The fiesta ends with a firework display in Fornells harbour. Fornells has craft markets twice a week. Playas de Fornells is an exclusive private development 5 minutes drive from Fornells. With a number of bars, restaurants and supermarkets it is well-contained, famous for its award winning gardens and right next to the beach at Cala Tirant. With golf, horseriding, sailing, windsurfing and diving all within 5 to15 minutes from the apartment, it is ideally located.

Flights are available throughout the summer from most regional airports from the likes of EasyJet, First Choice, Thomson, Palmair, etc.
Monarch fly year round from Gatwick, Luton and Birmingham and BA from Gatwick.
Car Hire is available and we can arrange / recommend companies we have used ourselves.

Further details indoors: Our property accommodates 4 guests comfortably and has a lounge/dining room, kitchen and 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed with ceiling fan and overlooks the beach and sea. The second bedroom having two single beds with ceiling fan and overlooks the gardens. There is one full bathroom which has a bath with integral shower, wc, bidet and washbasin. The smaller bathroom has a shower cubicle, washbasin and toilet. The lounge has a TV, Video player, (with a small selection of videos) and DVD* player (which will also play your CDs*. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, halogen hob, large fridge/freezer and all other utensils you will need. *Note - please take your own selection of DVDs and CDs.
Further details outdoors: Whilst there is no dedicated parking for the apartment there are pull in areas along the road adjacent to the complex.
Conditions
The apartment is accessed via one set of steps to the rear (1 storey). There is a high drop from the balcony, terrace and bedroom windows - which parents of very young children will need to be aware of.
Beach towels are not provided.

Just to say how much we enjoyed staying at your apartment last week. The location, views and facilities are superb and provided everything we needed! Snorkelling off the rocks below the apartment was amazing and both the pool and beach were excellent. We were privileged to arrive on Saturday night for the Fornells Fiesta and the horse rearing in the square followed by a firework display on the Monday night! The apartment was everything we wanted, being quiet with a fantastic view and just the right amount of space and features. I have to say, we never actually turned on the TV, DVD or video once in the whole 8 days!! Weather was good, and I’d love to return at other times of the year too. Just a quick note to thank you for the use of your apartment – everything worked just fine – and the weather was perfect – a very good time for not being in the UK from what we hear!!! The apartment is certainly in the most spectacular position, with all the amenities needed for a good stay.
