Downstairs there is shower room and toilet and double bedroom. Upstairs there is a Bath / shower and toilet and two bedrooms each containing a double bed and a single with built in wardrobes, bedside cabinets and lights. The downstairs is tiled while the upstairs is parquet flooring. Rugs are added in winter to provide extra comfort. A south facing balcony is ideal for those breakfasts and dinners’ winter or summer.
Winter holidays are snow oriented with cross country or downhill skiing, snowboarding, paraboarding, snowshoe walking or just hiking or climbing. Nearby there is a sauna, Jacuzzi and pool, roman thermal baths and airport for gliding.
Summer you can go rafting in white water, cannyoning, white water surfing, hiking and mountain bike riding. The Mediterranean beaches are just one and a half hours drive away.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region
The chalet is situated 1500mtrs above sea level in the Pyrenees. It is surrounded by beautiful mountain peaks of nearly 3000mtrs. The region has a good snow record and over 200 cannons in nearby Les Angles ensure a long ski season (1st week December to last week April). It is officially the sunniest region in France with over 3000 hours of sunshine a year. There is a sense of local independence from France or Spain as this is Catalan country with its own traditions, language, cuisine and history. Many hill forts attest to its warlike past. Villfranche with its Fort Libraria ( thousand of steps inside the mountain) is typical. There are caves a plenty and lots of water based activities, fishing, swimming, cannoing, white water rafting, cannyoning, mountain biking etc the list is only limited by your imagination.
Formigieres / Sol y Neu Lotissment area
Near to Formigueres there are the roman thermal baths at Dorres where you can sit in the warm waters while snow falls around you. Go underground in caves at Fontrabiouse or further down the mountain at Villefranche. The famous little yellow train is a fantastic way of reaching Villfranche and seeing the mountains close up. Andorra offers duty free shopping within 90 mins drive. Walk around the lakes at Matamale, Bouillouses, Balcere and D’Aude or just sit and fish or take a day trip to swim in the med at St Cyprien plage 90 mins by car. Ski at any one of the slopes in 14 locations, or cross country ski at 7 Nordic areas. Visit ancient forts at Mont Louis, Villefranche, Carcassonne and Perpignan old city. In Les Angles there is an animal park famed within the region, you could go ice skating, bowling or in the nightclubs, there is also an indoor pool. Matamale has an outdoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and nightclub. In Formigueres there are bars and restaurants, ski hire shops and other sports gear, butchers, banks, post office and general stores a laundry and on Saturdays a local market. There are free buses to the slopes at Formigueres, Les Angles and Puyvalador. You can get a multi region pass at “Les Neiges Catalanes” but you need a car to travel between slopes and the minimum is 6 days.
How to get there
By Car - Good access by road (motorways with tolls, which costs about £30 with cheaper diesel it is about the same cost as driving that distance in UK) from Channel ports via Paris - Bordeaux or Perigueax and then to Toulouse and Aix les Thermes or Carcassonne - Quillan and Gorges de St Georges or Perpignan - Prades - Mont Louis. The drive up to the mountains from Perpignan is very picturesque, you follow the famous yellow train from Villefranche upwards.
By Train - By TGV to Perpignan or Toulouse and then local trains to Mont Louis or Latour de Carol and taxi from there.
