About the home

Gypsy's Rural Retreats which have recently been awarded a 4* rating by Visit England can be rented together - sleeping up to 8 people. They are ideal for walking and cycling holidays (you can bring your bicycles as they can be locked up securely for you).

In addition a horse or two is also welcome as there is plenty of grazing). There is also parking for a horse box.

Well behaved dogs are welcome UPON REQUEST and there is plenty of space for them to exercise.

Each apartment has 2 bedrooms with a double bed in each and two single beds (adult-sized bunk beds in Gypsy's Loft). They are both completely self contained but are also ideal for families or friends holidaying together. There is wi-fi available in both apartments.

There is a gated parking area shared between the two apartments, with additional overspill parking next to the owners' house if required.

The Regency spa town of Cheltenham is 18 miles away, home to the famous Cheltenham Hunt Festival, with the city of Gloucester some 11 miles away, famous for it's Cathedral and restored Victorian docks..

The Forest of Dean - recently voted one of the 7 Wonders of Britain - is a stones throw from Gypsy's Stall & Gypsy's Loft, together with Herefordshire and the Wye Valley, with it's Gorges and stunning scenery beginning approximately 7 miles away at the pretty market town of Ross on Wye.

For visitors looking for beautiful scenery, walking or cycling holidays this area is ideal. There are numerous activities to enjoy in the Forest - from cycling & white water rafting, golf, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, birdwatching, hiking, canoeing and kayaking etc. More information can be obtained from www.visitforestofdean.co.uk.

Just over a 1 mile away at the end of the lane the "Farmers Boy Inn" can be found, recent stars of Channel 4's "Four in a Bed" and home to the famous "Mad About Pies" company. Phil & his team will be pleased to invite you to enjoy their hospitality!

“Fantastic rural retreat - perfect for families and larger groups if you take both lodges” Both lodges are very modern and niceley presented throughout. Both have a well equipped kitchenette and living rooms. They are located on a quiet country lane with easy access to footpaths pretty much straight from the accomodation with 2 country pubs located a mile in either direction. If you leave the bedroom window open you're likely to be woken up by the resident cockerell and lambs! The owner was very nice and welcoming too. “A fabulous property finished to a very high standard.” This is a very nice cottage with a lot of character but not in the old sense; It has had a lot of thought put into making a holiday let that works. The layout is very open and the décor is modern and comfortable, the kitchen is fitted out with modern appliances and provide you with everything you need, even down to a cafetiere. It is warm, conformable and very enjoyable. Perfect for a cycling, walking or climbing holiday with plenty of outdoors things to do. I would certainly recommend this to a friend and will be returning in the future. Thank you for a really nice weekend. Response: Your comments are much appreciated. “A lovely place to stay in a great area.” I stayed here for a week with my family, 6 adults and 2 children from the 21st july 2012., We had the gypsys loft and stall. Both upstairs and downstairs where fitted out to a very high standard. Everything we needed for a weeks stay was supplied, The accomodation was excellent and so was the location. Communication with the owner was great and she was very helpful. We had a great holiday and a lovely stay at the gypsys retreat . Minimum stay 2 nights.

The prices shown are for up to 8 people in the 2 apartments.

A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to secure a confirmed booking. The balance of 75% is to be paid 6 weeks prior to arrival date. A Security Deposit of £300 is required against damage or cleaning issues. Fully refunded when owners/agent confirms all is well following departure. This sum is payable with the 75% balance.

You will be responsible for ensuring the properties are kept clean and in good order and will also be responsible for any breakages. The owners reserve the right to deduct from the deposit additional cleaning costs and cost of any breakages or damage.

We do welcome your well behaved dog upon request but the property must be kept clean and your dog must not be allowed on the furniture nor left unattended. There are cleaning materials and a vacuum cleaner available. Any excessive cleaning costs will be deducted from the security deposit if necessary. Our property is for the enjoyment of pet owners as well as non pet owners and we ask that you kindly respect this.

Changeover day normally Saturday but can be negotiable.

Short breaks also available upon owners' discretion.
